The confusion continues with what is healthy to eat or drink for some body parts is bad for others. Today I read about a study that has mice losing length, volume, mineral content and cortical thickness when fed a diet including green tea. At this point they have no idea whether or not this will have the same results in humans.
My mother is 82 and has never consumed much fluid. The last few years she's been drinking a small bottle of the green tea with citrus which we felt was good for her health. Now we need to worry again. She takes calcium and has regular bone density tests to make sure she stays healthy. Maybe we need to go to plan C with ordinary tea.
So, while green tea may be good for her heart, it might be bad for her bones. At 82, which is worse? A healthy diet is getting harder to maintain every month.
