mary allin travers, member of the folk group peter, paul and mary,

died yesterday at the age of 72 from complications related to

chemotherapy treatments. she was diagnosed with leukemia in

2005. the group was responsible for such hits as "if i had a

hammer", "where have all the flowers gone?", "puff the magic

dragon", "blowin' in the wind" and "leaving on a jet plane".

Isn't that the idiot who crashed his plane standing next to Mary?
I saw PP&M several times in concert between 1965 and 1969. They always put on a great show.
I loved Mary's sweet, passionate singing.

I wasn't a flower child, but I remember them and I remember Mary. May she rest in peace. That's a tough way to go. When you get to be my age you hear about more and more people you've known or knew of dying. It's awful that they have to go in pain.
