The Commander John J. Shea Assembly of the Knights of Columbus held an indoctrination meeting at the Long Island State Veterans Home, (located at Stony Brook, on the campus of the State University of New York – SUNY – At Stony Brook) the location of the Donald J. Burns Council. This meeting, open to all members of the Knights of Columbus, (assembly meetings are normally open to Fourth Degree members only) was a kind of open house, explaining the many activities that the Assembly does to candidates for the Fourth Degree and to those who are interested in the Fourth Degree.

A video was shown to those who came about the Color Corps of the Fourth Degree. A contingent from the assembly Color Corps was there and they brought in the colors (a flag with gold trim around it is called the “colors”) at the start of the meeting and retired the colors at the end of the meeting.
