Someone said that if a person is able to feed their family by another means, but hunts and kills an animal for food - it's murder!
MURDER? Seriously? Come on now, it's not even close!
If that were true, then everyone who ever ate meat would be a murderer too, right?
I grew up in a hunting family. Everyone I knew hunted. Now my husband and my children go hunting. My dad, uncles, grandpa, friends and even many women/girls I know and grew up with are hunters. Wild game is abundant where we live and that's how the majority of the people put meat on their tables.
*
Where I grew up and went to school, on the first day of hunting season you could skip school and it wouldn't count against you! Over 1/2 the school would be gone that day, out hunting!
*
In my opinion, that's what the animals are here for, as long as people are eating them and not just killing them for the trophy, there is nothing wrong with it!
*
We raise cows and pigs for the very same purpose, that's where we get the meat that we feed our family with. The meat in the store is so costly and who the heck knows where it came from and what the animals were fed. This way, we know exactly what we are eating and feeding our family.

I know that a big part of the views on hunting, etc. have to deal in large part of where you are raised, it's different for each and every one of us. We might not all agree, but that's what makes the world go round.

Animal murder anyway.
Some just call it killing.

I pulled my gun up on a nice deer and that's as far as I went! I just couldn't pull the trigger.
While I'm not a hunter myself, I would never judge anyone else who enjoys the sport. My hubby would love to go one day, he's just never gotten around to it.
And anyway.. hunting is a SPORT and has been for along time. As long as you eat what you kill, then I don't see a problem. If you are just killing animals to be cruel, well then... someone needs to put you in a room with white padded walls.
Anyway, I love deer sausage!!! mmmmmm nom nom nom lol
My dad, brother and one of my sisters always hunt. Venison played a big part in our menus all winter long when I was young.
I think some people have gotten a bit removed from nature. Animals eat each other and many would eat us, too, if we didn't have the tools to defend ourselves. Are lions murderers? Humans have been eating meat for perhaps 4 million years or more and our bodies have evolved to become accustomed to eating it. I don't know of any vegans who can stay healthy without supplements.
I do think we eat too much meat in modern days, but I don't eating animals is murder unless you are killing them solely for fun and seeing an animal suffer.
We kill to eat, that's a fact. Vegans and vegetarians aren't exempt from that - plants are alive, and die to sustain us.
Buying from grocery stores and factory farms has removed from the minds of many the reality of the situation, but they're just pushing their killing - murder, if one wants to be inflammatory - off on someone else. The blood is still on our hands because we condone it, support it, enable it.
I come from hunters, farmers, and tribal people. I respect even the carrot that gives its life so we can eat. I know many who share that mindfulness, but I see many who don't, as well. Even among those who'd rather not eat Bambi.
I don't agree with trophy hunting. However, I cannot disagree with hunting to provide food for one's family. Just don't ask me to eat the meat unless it is fowl.
You can't judge someone for eating meat, just as you have no right to judge someone for NOT eating meat. It used to be how people survived.
