Yard Bird Photos from August and September 2009

Here's some bird photos I came across that I haven't post yet.

August 20th, 2009 I had two kind of doves visit my yard.

A Morning Dove.

A Ringed Turtle Dove.

Steller's Jays stop by often , demanding peanuts and looking for a drink.

House Sparrows are here year round. Looks like this guy is hitting on the female.

"Hey baby what ta go out ?"

This year I got lots of great shots of female House Finches.

I think this is Prissy.

Here's one of my favorites.

Oh and here's the twins, they seemed to hang together always.

The Goldfinches are changing colors and molting.

This  guy didn't want his picture taken. He's waving me away.

A Chickadee having a bad feather day.

This male House Finch looks awful. He is molting his summer plumage. Or i guess I could say it's Mortimer needing a dye  job.

Another female House finch. They seem to love having their picture taken.

and again. Must be Prissy her feathers are mussed.

A female Calliope Hummingbird.

This shot was taken seconds before the one where he stuck out his tongue.  A Chickadee.

Goldfinch playing teeter totter ?

"Hey what's going on down there ?"

Male Goldfinch.

I just like the angle of this shot, maybe a female goldfinch. This time of year I have trouble telling.
