They talking on HLN about this and said that it was unwritten that things said during this time, he was preparing for an interview, are not reported on. I guess curtesy doesn't extend to this president.

The disrespect shown to this president is far worse than anything I ever remember seeing before. Even when people didn't like the president, they always respected the office, that doesn't seem to matter anymore.

I watched what happened on tv and it was awful, crude and rude. You could see the devastation on her face and how awful to steal her moment.

I realize it was off the record, but I think presidential ratings won't suffer, in fact in my opinion, hearing this, I think they would go up. In my opinion, anyone who doesn't think he was a jackass, has no heart.

Well. as a first term POTUS he will need to stumble and fall a little before he learns how visible he is and vulnerable to attacks for being "Human". They say that the learning curve for a first term POTUS is 3 years--I have faith it will not take that long for President Barack H. Obama.

There should be no learning curve for speaking off the record. If its off the record then somebody who shouldn't even be there shouldn't say anything about it.

In Moran's defense, he is generally considered to be a good reporter and likely just got caught up in the Twitter mania. It's also likely that he is supremely embarrassed by the situation. I don't think this is a firing offense by any stretch of the imagination. The fact that Terry will find that people will be hesitant to do "off the record" around him (at least for a while) is more than enough punishment for his professional lapse.

As usual, the President handled the situation with aplomb and grace. And as he reminded us all, he - and we - have much more important things to deal with right now.
