many people don't know that patrick swayze originally

co-wrote and recorded "she's like the wind" for the movie

"grandview, USA" in 1984, but it was never used. then in

1986, some interest was shown and swayze ended up

recording it for the soundtrack of his hit movie "dirty dancing"

which also starred jennifer grey. the song and the soundtrack

were a success, reaching #3 and #1 on the charts,

respectively.

it's one of my faves.

Yes, children should see it, unless you don't want to expose children to stories that show how law and order can go off the rails - and straight men beat their wives.

i already adored the song from hearing it on the radio but when i found out it was patrick swayze singing....oh my! the song is so emotional. i LOVE it, too!

I loved Ghost and Dirty Dancing. Patrick Swayze was such a neat guy. And so strong in his fight against cancer. Thanks for sharing this lori ...

Thanks for sharing this memory, I was so sad we lost him. I remember Patrick Swayze in The Outsiders. He was a great guy and married to the same woman all those years.
