Please Join I Resolve To . . . Group members for the 'Get In The Groove For Fall Resolution Chat' on the 'first official day of Fall - Tuesday, September 22, from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M. (ET) (in an effort to enable more folks from the west and midwest to participate). I will be the chat host for the evening and the chat screen is at the end of this post.
School has started and we are into the crisp, clear days that precede the first official day of Fall next week. Isn't it amazing that we are just months away from the New Year? For many, the start of a new school year coupled with crisp, colorful Fall days provide a wonderful new beginning, much like the New Year (without the grey skies, cold weather and snow for those of us who live in states that 'roar' during the winter). There are more than three months left in 2009, plenty of time to make good on a New Year Resolution, dream, or goal that has languished on the backburner - or to pull a new one off the 'To Do List' and turn it into a 'Ta-Da'. Why not work to generate the kind of momentum that will take you right through the New Year and right into Spring?!
On Tuesday, September 22, during the I Resolve To . . . Get In The Groove For Fall Resolution Chat - come toot your horn about what has worked for you, what you have achieved in 2009, and what you would love to achieve in coming months. If you have encountered obstacles, we want to hear about them. If you are looking for Gather buddies to team up with, let's roll up our sleeves and get to work - brainstorm some new strategies and meet some new friends with whom we can share the journey. Just showing up is half the battle! If you haven't joined the official I Resolve To . . . group at Gather, do so today by clicking this link: I Resolve To . . . Group at Gather.
In the meantime, if you are looking for a way to get the ball rolling with some fresh 'daily resolves' consider the I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. The objective is very simple: Do at least one thing each and every day to promote health and happiness for 'YOU'. Banish the 'Someday, Someday, Someday Syndrome'. Instead, make every day New Year's Day. Make every day count with 'Daily Resolves'.
Not too long ago, I created my eighth 'Daily Resolve' video - this one for my August intentions. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. With that in mind, all of my photos and videos are aimed at inspiring others (and me!) to take small daily steps toward health and happiness. Enjoy and keep taking one small step after another toward your dreams each and every day!

I'm looking forward to it!
Today is also another calendar milestone . . . just 100 days until the New Year. Personally, I think I'm going to use the next 100 days to breathe some life into my creative projects, finish projects that have been sitting on the back burner, and do some additional organizing in my home (a major on-going project - a clean, orderly house and office makes me so much more productive, and it also feels great!).
What's on tap for you?
I did finally obtain the 501(c)(3) status from the IRS - so my biggest goal is to get out and begin speaking at schools/PTA offices/doctor offices/dental offices ... who ever I can find who will listen and talk about autism/asperger's syndrome
Then market my non-profit and my first book!
I took some paralegal courses and interned with an attorney friend when I could take classes for $5.00 (when I was an instructor) so if I think I can do something on my own - I am determined to give it a try
This Wednesday I have two to visit, Thursday one and then the last two on Saturday.
Next up is put together a proposal and get it out there to see if I can get it published
Then I will start really advertising my art retreats
Good luck, my husband and I did some work on our home this past few years to try to sell, but we've decided to stay for a little bit longer and try to do more and hold out for the real estate market to improve!
So far I have frozen fresh cut-off-the cob corn, beans, and two batches of tomato sauce (one reallly spicy, one not).
My husband and I canned 250 dill pickels and then the 4 types of jams/jellies/preserves
Tonight I am making a variation of a recipe I saw on rachel rays website - tacos or burritos in bell peppers. I have red/green/purple and brown ones from my garden or ones I've purchased at farmers markets and am going to put refried beans, meat, salas and cheese in them and pop them in the oven.
He seems to be finding more friends in his classes and making new ones too!
And there are so many other items available too that I've been looking at - I love the options on that site.
I plan to set up a shop there too eventually - but one thing at a time! So I don't overwhelm myself. It's been tiring hitting all these markets (I almost bit off more than I could chew) but I want to do Willamette valley (Portland/Salem, Oregon area and California and do a series of 40 in 40 days)
I have big plans for my nonprofit ... all in good time! But little steps.
I loved that Oprah is doing the magazine cover with Ellen because that was Ellens dream. Oprah is big on helping others with their dreams!
Also my son's Behavioral Psychologist who is the director of the department at The Children's Hospital here in Tacoma, WA has my book and I gave him my marketing materials and he was really impressed - he speaks at national conferences. I'd love to do that some day.
I am planning on a blog tour when my book comes out and a few other marketing websites that give away a free signed copy, etc. and I am willing to travel so I will go around and do book signings!
You will be great on a blog tour - and in person - you're passionate about the topic and that's so important.

The waiting is what's killing me. It will be 18 months from when the publisher accepted it until it is out. My editor and I are finished, now it's just the waiting game :)
Patience is not a virtue that I am strong on
so I had to disable some of the pages for now...
The other site for my books is live
I want to send out "LUMPs" to a publisher, finish my newest play, "Taking Stock", finish house projects started this summer and an adventure or two.
I'm so excited about your calendars Kim!
My Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk is also coming up in early October - I'm really excited about doing it again this year. I had a wonderful time last year.
But I'm also looking forward to the challenge of selling a 365-day calendar and companion book. I've been working on this for a long time, it's nice to see things really falling together.
but I just checked the email from the directer:
"AWA will be promoting the works of all our AS women and children members... and others... We will let you know when we are accepting formal memberships... we will do everything we can to help you. In the mean time.. contact Sharon at sharon@aspergerwomenassociation.com and have her give you an interview on one of her shows... Yvonne, Executive director AWA"
So I may have hit pay dirt with this connection!! Woo Hoo
I must run, it's just me and my son home right now and he needs something - probably dinner :) it's almost 6pm here.
Great progress Kim and Trish. I am so proud of all that we have accomplished and I love these chats to keep me on track!
Have a great week you two!
