Wandering Soul
(an ode)
©2009 Robert C Burnham
Wandering soul, I comfort you
If you falter, I die too
Wandering soul, my wayward friend
We run as one, until the end
Wandering soul, I feel your pain
We’ve walked together through snow and rain
If you hunger, I’ll give you bread
If you thirst, I’ll cool your head
And in the dark, if you must cry
I’ll do all I can, to dry your eyes
Wandering soul someday you’ll fly
Back to Heaven across God’s sky
While I remain, to carry on
And somehow complete your wandering song
But there will come a time upon that shore
When we’ll run together and play once more
Wandering soul, you gave me life
You gave me love, you gave me light
Wandering soul, I thank God
That you’re so special; much more than a dog!

Thank you's to all who sent money to allow Streaker further medical care.
A wonderful tribute to your faithful sidekick!
You're in my prayers, Robert. Please let us know as soon as you know something. All of Gather is in that waiting room with you!

Thank you for posting to The Surreal Circus.
I will pray very intensely for Streaker.
Our cat Sweetie just recently got sick. And, they vet has no clue what is wrong.
She's having trouble breathing, and not eating much, and hasn't drank much water.
Could you pray for her too?
Thanks buddy.
Thanks for posting to my group, Anythingwritng
Streaker did mostly okay this weekend. She is urinating regularly now but though she's had a couple bowel movements, she's still struggling there. She's eating a little in the morning but not much in the evening. I think she may be getting what I would label some diaper rash. She's ready for her next appointment at Orchard Park (www.opvmc.com) on Wednesday and I thank all who helped make that possible with prayers and aid. I am hopeful that the vet will provide me with a suggested treatment schedule/plan so I have a better idea of what they're thinking. She is walking a little each day (about 50 feet) but I have to check with the vet on how much walking is okay and how much is too much. She has not been hyperventilating so I am assuming the bulla on her left lung is done seeping out air for the time being, Dr. Kloc will have to confirm. Last night for a couple of hours, her pain got bad and she was whimpering. I'm thinking she fell asleep in a position that aggravated her pelvic. Once she got settled again, she slept all night.
