I just got home from walking Gilly to her new bus stop. While I was there, I talked with a set of grandparents, and a set of parents that also have their kids at that bus. The entire way there, Gilly complained that it was too far away, even though it was certainly closer than the bus stops last week. Of course, the only two times Gilly had to go to the bus stop last week, we drove.
When the bus arrived, I introduced myself and Gillian to the driver. Then, Gillian went up to the driver and said, "My name is Gillian, and I live at XXX XXXXX Street. It's a big yellow house on the corner. Could you just drop me off there please?"
It cracked me up the entire walk home! She's already demanding special favors ;)
The parents & grandparents at the stop mentioned that now that there were more people, maybe we should get the stop moved to a more central location. I'm fine with where it is, it's closer than it was walking to the school last year (not by much- 1 house, then the cross over bridge, and you're at the school they were at last year), and it's much closer and familiar feeling than the stops she was at last week.
