It's great to be 8, my middle son thinks or at least he thinks it will be when he's actually 8.
He'll be 8 in less then a week, this Friday in fact. My little boy with the reddish hair that everyone still comments about to this day (it's a really neat color, especially when you see it in person and the son shines on it), who is smart as a whip is turning 8.
The kids have been growing up so quickly... It amazes me that I"m the mother of a ten year old in 5th grade (my oldest son) and now my second baby is going to be 8. My youngest son (4) will be starting special ed hopefully next month and we're all very hopeful that he'll be a functioning member of society someday. He's high functioning and very bright but he needs a lot of direction and work.
But back to my middle son. I can still remember the cute todder he was. The way he wore socks on his hands, had a collection of plastic forks that he would carry around the house, etc. Now here he is...more grown up.
I wanted to share some pictures of him over the years. Here they are.
My middle son (in diaper) with his older brother. As a book lover, I always loved this shot of them reading together. See, this is proof that they sometimes get along! lol
He was only around two years old...sigh...

My middle son is batman. In this picture, I'm pregnant with my third child.
Sadly it's blurry but this is when my oldest son started 1st grade on the first day of school. My middle son would start Kindergarten the following year.
