This past week-end I was in Davenport Iowa for the Vintage Motorcycle Days at the fair grounds I snapped some good pictures of bikes from the past. The Triumphs are a British bike and I saw some beauties.
Bikes had an important part for the armed services.

I also loved this Norton.
The Indian Chiefs hold a special place in my heart because my first ever ride on a motorcycle was on an Indian Chief. It was a 1947 Chief but in 1953 didn't look this pretty.

I also love the cycles with side carts and some were really custom like this one with a leather chair for the side cart seat.

I was in the infield for the races and got to meet some really nice people. This is the bike that I was rooting for. It is a Triumph ridden by a rider from Texas known as Wild Will from Stephenville.
Here he is out on the track.

I finally met Wild Will and his wife Pat after being an online friend for about 8 years.

I also met several other flattrack supporters that I had only known online. I use my own name but the gal with me goes by Cherrypicker online.

It was a beautiful week-end as you can see in the pictures.

Hubby has a Triumph.
Lots of memories here. My first ride on a motorcycle was also and Indian Chief back in about 1950. I rode bikes for years but finally gave up my last big one a few years ago. Still have a little Honda and enjoy using it from time to time. I mostly keep it as a run-a-bout when traveling in the bus.
You are indeed full of surprises. Thanks for the photos.
One is a 1970 Triumph Bonneville 650, the last year for the 'traditional' Triumph with the oil tank under the seat. It is navy blue with light blue flames.
The other is a 1975 Harley Sportster - bright orange.
I need to get some pics of them so I can list them on Craigslist.
Hate to get rid of them, a lot of memories, but the taxes are due and the mortgage is behind - keep my house or keep sentiments???
Triumphs are popular all over Europe. My mom and stepdad would ride and compete in the oldies races. She was in the side car.
He was a champion motorcyle driver.
Thanks for sharing these great bikes!
