...Sad Wings Of Destiny is the second CD in this classic Judas Priest Limited 3 CD box set collection. Victim Of Changes is the opener on this fast paced lick. The fingerwork on guitar by K.K.Downing and Glen Tipton is all it takes to make a fan out of anyone hat listens to this 70's-80's favorite. As a teen growing up in the 80's, I recall blasting this one as often as I could. I recall many-a-times that the neighbors pounded on the wall with hopes that I would turn the stereo down. I remember having the cops called on me for playing this one too loud. I thing I have owned at least ten copies of this CD that opens perfectly with this masterpiece.
We all have heard the next one. Ripper is a hardcore example of the peak performances this band is capable of doing. Nothing beats a good morning moment than this type of rock-n-roll. This song is fater than most Judas Priest songs. Koch records was smart in releasing these three CD's in one set, especially since the set contains this song.
The third song, Dreamer Deceiver, starts out slow and riffles you into an expanse that seems universal. The world takes on a challenge when this one is playing. Get me out of my chair and take this flavoed Smirnoff, I dare you. I am anchored here and will listen to music all day. As a matter-of-fact, there is no chance that the world will move me. This song moves me and I am here for the duration of the day.
Deciever is next at #4. The quick segway from the previous song is excellent. This bombardment of guitar is just excellent in this lick. Any rocker out there that says that the CD is not worth it, skipped this one. The song is quick and also puts an extra beat in your hearts rhytm. The sole effects of Downing and Tipton is beyond excellent. This song will make you appreciate the band and its style. This song ends with an acoustic touch.
Prelude is #5 on this fantastic collectors item is flipping wild. The piano solo at the beggining is just right for this segway that jumps into Tyrant. Tyrant is a song that reflects on society at #6. This old-school piece is a glorifying example of the bands talent. The lyrics are rebellious and crying for freedoms ring. I recomend that you start this CD with this one, then go back and start the CD over.
Genocide is a song that many Judas Priest songs in the future of the bands success mimicked. Very vocal and and very deep this one is. Rob Halford has a skill that can not be matched. His talent is beyond what words can describe. He has a magic with words. This song ends with a fast thrashing at guitars.
The #8 lick is Epitaph. This one stands alone and is very sincere. The piano assists in this tribute like Epitaph that is an excellent song as it plays out like a good Queen lick. As the song progress it opens a rampant guitar attack and Halford takes his vocals to the top where the Epitaph segways into Island Of Domination. I love how the song makes for an excellent end to this classic release. It is a numbing experience to take these classic shards of music and play them again and again while I explore on the internet and kick back. While I learn the craft of music review and gather in Judas Priest from every possible angle, I look back into my past and review the lessons I have learned in all of these 43 years. One thing that I know for sure is that Judas Priest rules in my classic rock collection.
The 3rd CD in this 3-box set is Hero, Hero. Hero, Hero is a colllection of all of the songs from the two releases I reviewd for you in part 1 and part 2. It is the CD you play non stop for that morning wake up. I just love this band like no other. I hope you enjoyed your experience with Judas Priest like I have. Judas Priest Rules...still.
