I received this at 4:45 CST, Thursday, September 23 from Act Blue: |
Dear Leo,
Today the nation watched you raise $400,000 in one day to help show Republican Congressman Joe Wilson the door. Rep. Wilson made waves last night by heckling President Obama, shouting, "you lie!" in the middle of the President's address to Congress.
Starting at 9:30 last night, you stepped up to say you wouldn't tolerate that sort of disgraceful, boorish behavior in our nation's capitol. For almost 3 hours this morning, you were raising $1,000 a minute for Democrat Rob Miller, Wilson's opponent in 2010. And by mid-afternoon today, you'd hung a $200,000 pricetag on each word of Rep. Wilson's outburst.
The momentum is still building. CNN, the Washington Post and the Nation noticed your efforts, and are reporting them to an even larger audience. As of this email, 10,000 of you have raised more for Rob Miller than the entire pharmaceutical industry gave to Rep. Wilson last cycle. That's real grassroots fundraising.
$400,000 in less than twenty-four hours! Something is good abouit America. I tried for an update morning but failed to find one. If you with to contribute, go the actblue.com. |

I'm sorry to say, I am going to have to introduce you to Minnesota's own Michelle Bachmann - Member of Congress from our 6th Congressional District who is working on combining the "best of Sarah Palin" with the "discernment" of Joe Wilson. She's the one who, in the last election, told us that certain members in the House and Senate were "un-American." But, I guess she must know as she also tells us that the Lord is giving her guidance about a potential run for President.
Here is one of her many great quotes: "The thing about democracy, beloveds, is that it is not neat, orderly, or quiet. It requires a certain relish for confusion." Molly Ivins
Of more than 535 people present in that room, Congressman Wilson was the only one who couldn't hold his temper and couldn't act in the dignified manner that has existed in that Hall for more than 200 years.
It's time for Mr. Wilson to step aside so that a more mature, and stronger, candidate can take over. Iraq war veteran Rob Miller is just the candidate that South Carolina needs at this time.
Now Mr. Wilson will pay for the consequences of his actions.
Thanks for adding to the loss of right wing credibility.
Rob Miller is opposing Wilson in the upcoming election.
BUT the one thing that will get you booted out Parliament's door and reprimanded harshly is using the LIE - LIAR - YOU LIE word.
Thanks for posting this to Obama YES! Palin ~ NO!
GOoD ONE~
Thanks for adding to the loss of right wing credibility."
There is nothing "right-wing" about Joe Wilson's successful exposure of Obama's misrepresentation, of the healthcare program/illegal alien issue. There's nothing "right-wing" about Wilson's support of the Heller amendment, proposing to require citizenship verifications for access to the program.
As the very recent Rasmussen poll shows a huge majority of Americans (83 - 90%) support the same thing Wilson supports and is calling for (95% of Republicans and 70& of Democrats. Welcome to Reality !
Wilson is nothing but right-wingnut hypocrite trying to make a name for himself. The Heller "amendment" was nothing but a back door attempt to place enforcement under separate state laws so that racists like Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa county would decide who was eligible for health care coverage.
Nothing but more right-wing "states' rights" boilerplate. The alternative in the amendment, which Robert F. Xenophobia refuses to read, is an attempt to leave the door open for more of the extremist right agenda of a national photo ID.
Not only "right-wing", but "extremist right-wing".

In 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants’ healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants.
So Wilson helped to get illegal aliens EMTALA, huh ? Well, I'll tell you what my little Newbies. I'll tell all the illegal aliens I know to send him a Thank you card.
Well, if he's a "right-wingnut", then so must also be 83% of the American people (90% really) (Rasmussen Reports), and Obama himself who has already acceded to Wilson's demands and agreed to include the SAVE provisons (what Wilson was complaining about in case you might not have known). BTW, that was 3 days ago (Sept. 11). Don't you guys read the news ? See my article : "Joe Wilson WINS! Obama Backs Down"
Uh oh. The race card again. Xenophobic ? Against whom ? Be advised I'm 50% Hispanic. Didn't I tell you it was a good idea for Newbies to read the back pages of Gather, before blundering right in here ?
