Today
Today, in 2001, the world stopped,
we saw the gates of hell,
in living color, on the TV.
I didn't think it was real.
This couldn't be happening,
in our safe, unthreatened world,
with Lady Liberty watching.
I know I saw her cry.
God has blessed America,
but Satan decided to visit,
taking away the illusion,
that our lives were safe.
We saw the people jump,
without a net to catch them,
knew that evil had arrived,
as Lady Liberty cried.
As the many entered Heaven,
they were given a special place,
for the sacrifice they'd made,
the families they'd left behind.
We were a nation united that day,
for many days after, in grief,
in shared sorrow, in loss,
for the many lives lost.
As one, we cared and wept,
for orphans, widows and widowers,
for those who left too soon.
Why don't we care all year?
Don't you wonder if it'll happen again?
When it'll happen again?
Where it'll happen again?

Don't know why or who or whether it's anything or not .... just that the Coast Guard is dealing with an issue.
I tried all the other channels ... all happily cooking and cleaning and going about regular business so maybe it's nothing. But seems like a mention might be in order?
Who's in charge out there? Who would do such a trainging exercise on this day of all days especially when the Prez had been so close in?
Ah well ... will wait for more info. Sorry to hijack your post. But ... perhaps this is also part of remembrance. It might be a training exercise but it could just as easily have been real. The bad guys are still out there and they ain't us irt this kind of thing on our own soil.
