Joe Wilson Shouldn't have apologized, and McCain Sucks!

September 10, 2009 08:14 PM EDT (Updated: September 10, 2009 11:22 PM EDT)

Joe Wilson shouted out and that Obama is a liar.  I guess it's wrong to tell the truth in America now that we have a black president.  Joe Wilson was wrong for apologizing for the truth.  McCain sucked which is why that political junkie lost the election.  Maverick he isn't, as he demanded an apology from Wilson.

Here's a link to a list of Obama's lies.  I've posted it before, and I wouldn't have posted it again, but a liberal who wrote an article about this, and the fact that he and his liberal friends would come after Joe Wilson, I felt that I should tell the truth.  No apologizes but at least I don't delete comments, so comment away, or just rank me low, and get your enema that way.

As you lefties rally to defeat Wilson, we will rally to get him elected.

At least the left waited until the speech was finished.

When did they wait? We have to wait while lies are being told? Is patience the only virtue above truth?

Thanks for posting. Let's not get caught up in the rudeness (as was done to Bush) but research the issue. Obviously Wilson knew a lot more than Obama was ready to reveal. Isn't he on one of the committees working on the "plan"?
Nora J A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:07pm EDT
Yes, he was on the committee that the Republicans tried to get an amendment with wording asking for proof of "legal citizenship" and the dems kicked it out.

One has to wonder, why the amendment wasn't allowed if Obama is on the up and up about no payment to "undocumented" aliens. He lied and Wilson knew it!
Linda A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:23pm EDT
I knew he knew it was a lie and now I know why he could not hold it in.

Guy W. Sep 11, 2009, 2:53pm EDT

Perhaps there's a reason you don't recognize an ill-bred moment when you see it. It's considered ill-mannered and unprofessional, poor behavior in that type of venue-no matter who did it. McCain was not the only member of the Republican party told him to apologize. Republican party heads didn't give Wilson a choice. It was not a good thing for the GOP.
Catherine J. Sep 10, 2009, 8:46pm EDT
There is a certain set of rules of decorum. Wilson behaved he was at a Town Hall Meeting and he was talking to the Mayor of Kobunk. This is The President of the United State of America. Mr. Wilson's actions were disgusting, improper, against rules and disgust. I am writing in favor of censuring him.

As for you and your bigoted words. Grow up...or maybe evolve is the better term.
J. McDole - Gather's Anti-Beck Sep 10, 2009, 10:26pm EDT
I think we're actually agreeing here.
*Carol ~Bronx Southern Belle D. Sep 10, 2009, 10:36pm EDT
So kiss George Bush if you are so concerned with decorum. You lefties showed him no respect but demand respect for Obama? No no.
Peter Joseph Swanson Sep 11, 2009, 6:32pm EDT
You righties cried about no respect for Bush, but give Obama far less far sooner. No no .
Angel sent from God Secret Sisters Sep 12, 2009, 10:48am EDT

The Point is RESPECT FOR THE Presidentcy not Obama or Bush..

Wilson's a purblind idjit, but the fools who started jeering and cat-calling were just ridiculous. What did those dolts think? That they were at some local-yokel tea party where behaving like moonbats would be acceptable? That was no tea party, and stomping, jeering and cat-calling weren't gonna get far. The President did it just right - talked over it as if it wasn't even happening.
Nora J A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:08pm EDT
Those who booed, weren't they the Dems?
Linda A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:26pm EDT
Well, I think there was some "noise or jeering" before he yelled out, and then after, the Dems booed - I think. When I looked/listened to it on You Tube - that was my take.

Some also dug up some of Bush's addresses to Congress, and there were some jeering moments, but no recognizable yelling of words.
Guy W. Sep 11, 2009, 2:55pm EDT
You're seriously hunting up weak u-2's to try to justify this lying screamer!?

Anyone caught trying to rationalize this behavior immediately loses all credibility. You blind ideologues would try to justify him eating his own children. It's pathetic.

BTW, the President was right AND wrong on the issue in question. There will be no direct access to any public insurance for illegals. By the same token, the poison pill amendment you self-righteous folks and your sanctimonious Senators and Representatives tried to insert won't be there (and you knew it wouldn't). No hospital association or medical association is going to stand for being made to perform citizenship investigations on every first time patient.

So it got voted down, and you get to be smug about that. Goody for you. It's a small, mean victory. Enjoy it.
Nora J A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:09pm EDT
So, guess you don't bother to take your social security card or health card or drivers's license. They already ask for documentation! DUH!
Sheryl O. Sep 11, 2009, 3:33pm EDT
Nora - yet again you exhibit your immense ignorance. Illegal aliens HAVE driver's licenses and SS cards. That's how many of them get hired by unsuspecting employers. Granted, they are illegally obtained. But to expect an emergency room staff to ask a sick patient to wait while they did an exhaustive check - and by everyone's admission the databases are not reliable and it takes a lot of time to perform - is absolutely absurd. It is against all ethics and the Hypocratic oath that medical professionals take.

I would love to see you go in for emergency treatment and have to sit around for hours while they make sure you are legally here.

The ignorance is astounding. Really.

I think there should be a certain standard of behavior when the President of the United States is giving a formal speech. I'd rather not see Rs stoop to the level of the Ds from the Bush era.

Read the Bill. It's not in there.
Nora J A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:11pm EDT
Where's the amendment requesting proof of being a legal citizenship?

Obama lied AGAIN!
Guy W. Sep 11, 2009, 2:57pm EDT
There never was a "loophole" in H.R. 3200. It clearly exempts non-citizens from the requirement to obtain insurance and it clearly prohibits non-citizens from participating in the affordable public option.

The "amendments" offered in committee were attempts to tack on a national photo-id requirement and to put the verification of citizenship under the jurisdiction of separate states. H.R. 3200 sanely keeps the verification under the federal jurisdiction of the Secretary, and prevents the right-wing attempt to attach another back-door, liberty-stealing rider.

Your credibility is below 0.

Shouting out like that during the President's speech was in poor taste.

The message was technically accurate, but the manner in which it was delivered was inappropriate.
Marilyn M. Sep 10, 2009, 10:16pm EDT
Well....how much respect does a liar deserve?
Rachel D. Sep 10, 2009, 10:21pm EDT
The President deserves respect. We (Republicans) are the same people who were screaming about disrespect just a few years ago, and I am NOT going to be a hypocrite about it. The US elected him, and while it is great to disagree with him, there is a level of respect that needs to be afforded the office.
Nora J A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:12pm EDT
Like you respected Pres BUsh?
Peter Joseph Swanson Sep 11, 2009, 12:29pm EDT
Not this bad and not this soon.
louis a. Sep 11, 2009, 5:46pm EDT
Nora ex President bush did not warrant the respect he received. He should have been impeached and should have been thrown in jail along with his junta.

Be honest...if President Obama had been in office on 911 and had gone to war under the same pretext with the same results, would you have called for impeachment?
louis a. Sep 11, 2009, 5:47pm EDT
AC so I ask you the same technically accurate question.

If an illegal alien is injured in this country, should that person recieve medical attention?
Rory M. Sep 11, 2009, 5:51pm EDT
Bush earned the disrespect he received over years through lies that led to wars and thousands of deaths, amongst other transgressions. All Obama did to receive the bile (far worse than anything Bush ever received) was get elected.
AC W. Sep 11, 2009, 8:25pm EDT
"If an illegal alien is injured in this country, should that person recieve medical attention?"

That person is a criminal, and should be afforded the minimum care necessary to preserve life. At that point, the criminal proceedings should begin. But that's not what's happening now, and it's not what will happen with universal coverage.
Rory M. Sep 11, 2009, 9:15pm EDT
Yeah, let's ask doctors and nurses to be immigration agents, police and prosecutors while we're at it. Or maybe just turn all hospitals into police stations, courthouses and prisons.

Such pretzel logic.
AC W. Sep 11, 2009, 9:27pm EDT
Or here's a thought: how about we have the medical professionals do their jobs and preserve life, and notify law enforcement / ICE so that they can then do their jobs. Come on folks, this isn't that hard.
Nora J A. Sep 12, 2009, 8:48pm EDT

Yes, Wilson should have apologized and so should you. Like it or not, Obama was elected by us, the American people and he deserves more respect than what Wilson gave him. It seems to me that if you wanted things in America to get better you'd offer reasoned agrument for the policies you support or nothing at all. Insults will get you little other than more insults.
Nora J A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:13pm EDT
He didn't get the vote of 47% of the nation. And in his speech he insulted all of those who are wanting to be heard.

That's okay, "pay backs are fun".

Scot K. Sep 11, 2009, 8:46pm EDT
Hey Linda, I missed it, when did someone call Bush a liar will he was addressing congress? I don't recall that. I know I never did it. In any case, I don't think two wrongs make a right.

Nora, how did Obama insult all of those wanting to be heard?
Nora J A. Sep 12, 2009, 8:49pm EDT
His negative remarks about the "dissenters".. That's okay, only 3 more years....
Scot K. Sep 13, 2009, 11:07pm EDT
Hey Nora, I don't recall a reference to dissenters but I did miss the first few minutes of the speech. I look it it up the the whitehouse web site, http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Remarks-by-the-President-to-a-Joint-Session-of-Congress-on-Health-Care/ but I couldn't find "dissenters" anywhere in the text. Did I miss it?

Anyway, your right about only 3 more years, but with any luck and if a few more people putting country before party, people before corporations, I"m hoping we'll see a lot of improvement by the end of 4 years.
Scot K. Oct 4, 2009, 12:32pm EDT
". Look at the polls and see what "US" are doing? "

Hey Ramona, we did that back in November and we both know who won. Let's stick to the constitution and go with this president until the next election and we'll see who wins that one.

If a Democrat had yelled "You Lie" to George W. Bush as he spoke about yellow cake uranium, mobile weapons factories or phantom connections between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein before a joint session of Congress, Republicans would have been accusing him of treason.

However, now that the shoe is on the other foot Republicans are adamant that all the hatred and venom that it took George Bush seven years to earn from many Americans and political opponents should be heaped on Barack Obama BEFORE he has the opportunity to earn any portion of it, and to ratchet up the level of hatred and anger by a factor of ten while doing it.

Obama tries to spearhead an overhaul of the American health care system, something almost every president in 70 years has had a stab at, and the Republicans and their supporters are carrying guns to public meetings he attends and yelling out insults in places and during events that DEMAND decorum.

If a Democrat had brought a gun to meeting where Bush was speaking not only would he not have been allowed out of the segregated "free speech zone" but he might have found himself on a secret flight to Gitmo or some third world secret prison and branded a terrorist.

But I guess now that the president is black its okay to carry guns and hurl insults at him. Why don't you troglodytes just carry a lynching rope? It's what you want to do, after all.
Nora J A. Sep 10, 2009, 11:14pm EDT

So carol, If an illegal alien is hit by a car in your hometown and is dying on the street....should that person be taken to a hospital or be left to die?

Taken to the hospital, treated, deported to Mexico with his bill to his government.

and excuse me, my son's girlfriend is from Mexico, born there and moved to US this past yr under a student's visa.

She is going to college to be an attorney, she wants to fight against people like you.

Hope she don't get hit by a car, you probably spit on her as they took her to the hospital because automatically you think because she was mexican she was here illegal.
Rory M. Sep 11, 2009, 10:58am EDT
More important to the question of whether 'illegal aliens' should get medical care is this: if any of the millions of undocumented foreign nationals living in the USA get the swine flu this fall and do not receive treatment, then the rest of you are in greater danger as a result.

Go ahead, cut off your nose to spite your face.

Here's another link to Obama lies. Sorry the first one didn't work. There are so many.
(The Other) Dale C. Sep 10, 2009, 11:38pm EDT
Carol, I appreciate your articles, but you know as well as I do, that only a handful of Gather's radical left, will give you the negative feedback as shown above.

The left refuses to look at truth, if it in any way, denigrates the mighty mouthpiece.

If Jesus were to return tomorrow, they'd mass in great numbers, calling him a nutcase and try to crucify Him again. Of course, WE know how far they'd get THIS time. Not very far at all. Oh, how I look forward to that Day.

As for the lie... and it is a lie, due to the bill's "plausible deniability". What is the lie? This bill, like most all other hand out bills, demands proof of citizenship to receive benefits. This bill lacks the part that questions citizenship. THAT is the lie and it's intentional, by not only Mighty Mouth, but by all Dems too. The reps have tried to insert the wording, but the dems keep denying it.
(The Other) Dale C. Sep 10, 2009, 11:40pm EDT
I should have said...'This bill UNlike most all other hand out bills......"

In his speech to Congress Wednesday, President Barack Obama said the changes to health care that he's proposing "would not apply to those who are here illegally." That prompted Wilson, a South Carolina Republican, to shout "You lie!" from his seat in the House chamber. Wilson later apologized for the outburst, but he didn't back down from his claim.

THE FACTS: The House version of the health care bill explicitly prohibits spending any federal money to help illegal immigrants
AC W. Sep 11, 2009, 7:37am EDT
One version in the House does prohibit using federal money for illegals. But that same bill offers no provisions for verifying the citizenship status of ANYONE seeking care. So, if no one's checking, how do you keep illegals from benefiting?
louis a. Sep 11, 2009, 11:26am EDT
AC and so I ask again...if an illegal alien is hit by a car, or shot or injured while mowing your lawn....should that person be taken to a hospital for treatment or be left to die on the streets? and then what do you do with the body?

and no, saying they 'should have stayed in Mexico' is not an answer. Noone is going to give illegal aliens healthcare as in insurance!
Nora J A. Sep 11, 2009, 1:01pm EDT

Maybe that's what those socialist countries should do with American citizens working in their countries. Apparently none of those tyrannical socialist monarchies have learned the lessons of christian compassion you have to share. They cover non-citizen Americans without question, without complaint, and without cost. What barbarians!

You have neither shame, nor credibility.
AC W. Sep 11, 2009, 8:27pm EDT
"AC and so I ask again...if an illegal alien is hit by a car, or shot or injured while mowing your lawn....should that person be taken to a hospital for treatment or be left to die on the streets?"

See answer above.
Nora J A. Sep 12, 2009, 8:54pm EDT
Well Guy, don't know what countries you've been traveling to. That's not what I've heard.

I knew it was going to come to something like this, so I didn't vote for either of those wannabes.

Maybe Joe Wilson would make a good prez, but we would have to get him past the Illuminatti.

Lloyd C. - Proud Democrat. c. Sep 11, 2009, 1:37am EDT
Congressman Wilson has shamed himself, his state and his party. His total lack of self-control puts into serious question his emotional ability to make level-headed, prudent decisions for our country. He will forever be known for this stupid, disrespectful act.

Of more than 535 people present in that room, HE was the only one who couldn't hold his temper and couldn't act in the dignified manner that has existed in that Hall for more than 200 years.

It's time for Mr. Wilson to step aside so that a more mature, and stronger, candidate can take over. Iraq war veteran Rob Miller is just the candidate that South Carolina needs at this time.

Miller, a former Marine Corps captain and Beaufort County resident who is running against Wilson again, said supporters donated $400,000 to him in 19 hours — between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

“As a former Marine, I was always trained to respect the chain of command,” Miller said. “I was surprised that Congressman Wilson would disrespect the commander in chief on national television. His actions really exemplify everything that’s wrong in Washington. Shouting and name-calling have no place when we’re dealing with such important issues.”

Well said sir. And thank you for your service to our nation.

Thank you for posting this article to our group, Barack Obama's Presidential Appointments, Bills and Policies.

Is it hard to type with that sheet over your head?
Rory M. Sep 11, 2009, 11:04am EDT
Gotta love it. Perhaps it is the light from the burning cross that allows them to see through the sheet.
Nora J A. Sep 11, 2009, 1:04pm EDT
Vicky, get a life, YOU are the one who brought up race.

This is not about race it is about policy. Sssshhheeeesh
Rory M. Sep 11, 2009, 5:42pm EDT
No, Carol brought up race in her second sentence claiming that decorum in the halls of Congress, expected since before the building was constructed, was a new phenomenon based on the race of the president.
Angel sent from God Secret Sisters Sep 12, 2009, 11:34am EDT
I agree with Vicki take the pointed white hats off!!! Shame.. I bet you ll end up putting a burning Cross in front of his home too.

It's ok to disagree with the President and even think he's a liar, but it's definitely NOT ok to interrupt a presidential speech. That was poor, and even more poor was that he only apologized because some higher senators urged him to do so....poor behavior all around.
Rory M. Sep 11, 2009, 11:04am EDT
Very poor behaviour is being encouraged, and even supported, on the right at present. They think it is "mavericky".

it's funny Carol, I betcha you call yourself a fine Christian too! well you have indeed been indoctrinated!!

I love how the illegal is from Mexico.
how you would still give that illegal in dire straights healthcare . SO CAROL IS FOR GIVING HEALTHCARE TO ILLEGAL ALLIENS!
*Carol ~Bronx Southern Belle D. Sep 10, 2009, 11:16pm EDT
Louis,
Did you come in on a space ship from Ninconland? I mean what the heck are you talking about? In regards to your question, I would fix 'em up and ship 'em out.

So South Bronx Carol once fancied Queen....what is the lie Obama told?

and when on earth has stupidity been such a commodity in this country!

God help us all.

Nora J A. Sep 11, 2009, 1:06pm EDT
Curious, what is the largest percentage of illegals currently in our country?

What country?
J. McDole - Gather's Anti-Beck Sep 11, 2009, 2:06pm EDT
Wonder what would happen if Jesus appeared in the U.S. and got hit by a car. He was dark-skinned. Hope he'd get treatment.
Rory M. Sep 11, 2009, 5:39pm EDT
And Jesus was not an American and would not have any valid current citizenship papers to present at the border. By definition he would be an illegal alien. He'd probably be working as a fruit picker on a farm somewhere for slave wages and have insults and slurs heaped on him by Republicans who go to church every Sunday and believe they are Christians.

WHAT THEN IS THE LIE? that there is NO HEALTHCARE FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS ?THAT REPUBLICANS WANT TO HAVE ILLEGALS DIE ON THE STREETS? CAROL?

I'm not for illegal immigration either dear but, they are here and they are human and like you, I don't want them to mooch off my country and send the money back to wherever they are from! or collect services that are due to those born or immigrated here legally!

The difference, dear, is that I am not using immigrants as a straw man!

STOP hiring them to clean up your gardens or build additions or watch your! You want to get rid of illegal immigration? START BY PUNISHING THOSE COMPANIES THAT HIRE THEM! SUPPLY AND DEMAND! START PAYING A LIVING WAGE SO AMERICANS CAN WORK AT MENIAL LABOR!

CAROL? is there anything in there other than hate? Can you think...a little?

BTW CAROL....I agree he should not have apologized....by the Republican's own rules he should be censured!

FROM THE COMMITTEE ON RULES, REPUBLICAN for the Senate and Congress:

"The precedents of the House allow a wide latitude in criticism of the President, other executive officials, and the government itself. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE TO USE LANGUAGE THAT IS PERSONALLY OFFENSIVE TO THE PRESIDENT, SUCH AS REFERRING TO HIM AS A 'HYPOCRITE' OR A 'LIAR.' Similarly, it is not in order to refer to the President as “intellectually dishonest” or an action taken by the President as 'cowardly.' References to the Vice President, in spite of his role as President of the Senate, are measured against the standard used for the President rather than prior standards used to govern the Senate."

Here is the website: http://rules-republicans.house.gov/Educational/Read.aspx?ID=5

Dishonorable Joe needs to be censured, thrown out.
Scot K. Sep 11, 2009, 8:50pm EDT

I guess it's wrong to tell the truth in America now that we have a black president.

Carol, I'd love to hear your justification for why Obama's race has anything to do with this.

Short and sweet to just have to read til the 2nd sentence to find out where the poster is REALLY coming from.
" I guess it's wrong to tell the truth in America now that we have a black president."
She really didn't even need 16 of those words to say what she meant!
Nellie (The Bad Santa of Gather) Sep 12, 2009, 3:45pm EDT
and the scary thing is that she will deny she wrote that, that that isn't what she meant, that everyone here is seeing racist remarks when she has sooo many black friends. (that is her excuse each time...and she really can't figure out why people come down on her..Bunker must have been her role model growing up)

Oh, and your Snopes link? It's an article that debunks almost all of those 50 claims that Obama lied. Many of the "lies" attributed to Obama in that suspect email forward could not even be attributed to anything he said!
louis a. Sep 11, 2009, 4:05pm EDT
I'd love for Carol to debunk the following 'Lies'

Saddam was responsible for 911.
Al queda had ties to Iraq.
Iraq was an immanent threat to the US.
Iraq had no WMD in 2001
The US did not torture against the Geneva Convention

iThem is serious whoppers Carol! we're in a war because of them. A democratic president would have been impeached for just one of them....oh and by the way....deficits don't matter [Dick Cheney]....

What ever happened to civility and respect? His "reaction" was just grandstanding and a ploy to get attention. Unfortunately for him, it drew more negative attention and campaign contributions to his Democratic opponent.

By the way--all members of Congress are given copies of the speech beforehand, so he knew what Obama was going to say. So any idea that this was an emotional reaction to what the President was saying is a bunch of you-know-what.

Peter Joseph Swanson Sep 11, 2009, 12:24pm EDT
