American Idol

I'll be honest I figured Paula would be back next year. When I first heard she didn't sign a new contract, then I thought it was just to get the show into the news with everyone talking about it around the water cooler. Now I'm not sure how well next season will go with the new regular person that will be sitting in Paula's Chair and I was quite surprised to hear Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen has a very sucessful talk show and wondered if the show was ending and have heard she is going to do both.

I like Ellen; however, would have liked to see the new person be somebody in the music business. There certainly are many talented female singers that are popular and I would think the show could afford one. What do you think of Ellen joining American Idol? Is she the right choice?

I hadn't heard that. I think she would be great. She is outspoken and even though she is not in the music business, she would represent the "little people" that make up the TV audience.

I like Ellen, I like her show.
While I agree with Nurse Nancy's comment, that "Ellen would represent the 'little people' that make up American Idol's TV audience.
I do think to be a judge on American Idol having a music background would be a help.

I was disappointed that Paula would not be back. I did not like the new judge from last year and almost stopped watching because of her. I like Ellen and think she will add some flavor to the show. They do need to shake things up a little.
