                                                   Gather really is a family. We worry when we don't see someone on for a bit, we share our life stories.... I even tell gatherfriends things I would Never tell my real-time family!
                                                  It was sad news to hear that our own Chana M has passed away.  ((Goodbye, my dear. Your kind words and great poems shall live on)).. I very much enjoyed her poems and insights into other people. I can't WARN you women enough about pains running down your arm or even under the side of your breast...heart attacks are NOT the same for women as for men!!! I saw a doc just days before the one that almost GOT me, and the Doc treated me for broncial...then 4 days later I had a major attack. I feel very lucky to have survived. If you aren't SURE about pain, then SEE a Doctor! Better to feel a bit foolish than Die......
                                   In other news, my room mate says Suntrust bank will not return his stolen money for 5 to 10 days...What a bummer for him.
                                   Have any of you tried cruising Gather late at night lately? I used to find the best writing, the most poignant poems, in the wee hours, but now it's more like ~Infomercial~ time...Nothing by our own writers of fiction, not many poems, just "how to" choose the best cell phone, the best computer, the best cars,
ARGGGGG.................Well, at least i took the time from reading to get my vacation e-mails all done...over 3,00 down to TEN!! yay!
                           One group has 51,276 members. so where ARE those members?
Why aren't they posting? Some groups were under "Most popular" and they only had 14 to 24 members. I don't get the rating system for "most Popular". Do you?

 Where in the HELL is Kay M?????? Doesn't anybody know her well enough to ask her hubby? I hate it when a popular person disappears from cyberspace...we may never find out what happened to her. her last profile changesaid she was going to pick tomatoes.... musta been from an off planet garden............

                         Are you missing anybody special tonight?

Sorry to hear about the gal that passed away. It is weird when an online friend goes on. I, for one, sometimes don't realize how big a part of my life they are until they aren't anymore...

I talk to a lot of online friends, Warren, and do notice when they disappear.
I know over 20 people here on gather in person too, so I would REALLY notice if THEY left suddenly.

Yah I have alot of online people I know. There has been a time or two where the person has left my life and I didn't notice it until to late. Kind of unfortunate on my part so I have been trying to notice those around me a bit more. I have a tendency to kidn of zone in to my own head at times, heh.

Oh, how horrible. I was hoping it wasn't true about Chana.
I've noticed Kay is gone. A bunch of us pinged her. Hope she's busy doing god things.
Phyllis is gone, but she's okay...just lots going on.

I have some friends that try to check in every once in a while, but they don't stop long enough to say hi, or let me know what they are up to. I have even tried pinging them to get a response, but no such luck. I am missing a few on here, but will just have to live without their pings or articles. I just hate it when they don't even say goodbye. Or that I'll be missing in action for a while.

I also miss sharing stories with you and others on Reena's Bling site, Penni.
Chana had considered leaving Gather, then returned with some nice poetry before her unfortunate demise.

I've notices a lot missing lately too. It's sad. I've just seen a lot of hate filled posts lately and have been sad about that...doesn't make me want to post or visit too much.

Yes, some of my favorite writers and photgraphers have dissapeared into cyber space. I have been with Gather a very long time and too many are now gone. My list of Friends is about 330 and I guess most have left home. They never write, they never call. :-(

I agree about the pain thing, but way too many doctors don't take women seriously. Or they assume something and give you a pill and send you home. My GP is test-happy. I had chest congestion and mentioned my chest hurt, and he ordered a stress test. Sigh. I pulled a muscle in my back and said it hurt to take a deep breath and he send me for some inhaled isotope xray to see if I had a blood clot in my lung. I told him my lungs were fine, it was the muscle that hurt! But this is the same practice that told my insurance company I had tennis elbow when I sprained my wrist.

I've noticed that it's been really quiet around here. I miss Sandy's WeeWE writing group, and it looks like that's dead in the water. I miss the people who would make actual suggestions on my writing who seem to follow Sandy around. There are a number of people I lost track of due to Gather upgrades. The upgrade a time or two ago even disconnected me from some people.

As for late at night, I try real hard to be asleep then.

So ... have you set up on your roof to videotape birds again?

We just set up the roof for some skywatching...September is one of the best months to spend on the roof...:)

Sorry to hear of Chana's passing. May God comfort her family & friends. I can think of two people. Julie J and Reena. I hope they are doing well.

I know who Chana was and she will be missed, but I don't know who Kay M is. I only know one person on Gather personally and she never participates. She will be running for congress very soon and says she must be careful what she prints in cyberspace because we tend to get carried away when we can't make eye contact with our listeners. LOL Yep, some of us do get carried away....LOL.
