My son is spoiled

Today was the 1st day of school and the school will feed him lunch.  Well today they fed him pizza.  HE LOVES pizza.  The school only had cheese and no meat so he refused to eat lunch cause of the no meat.. LOL

 

I am lucky for the most part he will eat what we put in front of him.  He looked at me today and goes mommy I won't eat it with out my pepperoni. I thought I would share the funny story with you.

 

I never realized how quiet my house is with out both kids here fighting.. Man i can't wait until thursday..

It is a big difference when one starts school. You get used to it after a while. My son is spoiled too. He is a very picky eater. I had to make him soup this morning for lunch because he only likes some of the hot lunches at school and won't eat sandwiches unless they're from Jimmy John's.

he's gonna get hungry if he gets picky at school!!!

having both kids in school at the same time will give you lots of time to organize your house!!!! (hint-hint) hugs!!!!!!

My daughter is a vegeterian so school lunches are pretty much out. Even if there is no visable meat - there is typically meat somewhere in the prep. Or she just doesn't like what they have - so she always brings a school lunch.

I hope that this is not too personal: is she a true vegetarian or does she just see it as being cool or something?

She is a true vegeterian. She has choosen this way for about 3 years now & she is 14 now. Hard sometimes to findout if foods are made with animal fats, etc.... so it is all a learning process.

Priscilla you are so right, there are so many biproducts hiding in many foods. Mushroom soup sounds pretty innocent doesn't it? Well, usually it has chicken broth in it...

My mom finally let me become a vegetarian at the age of 16, and I have not eaten meat since. A couple of Chinese restaurants almost changed that though, since their vegetarian dishes came with meat:) No more Chinese for me!

We are constantly learning in this really. Some fast food places have french fries that are off limits for her. It is frustrating how hidden meat can be.

Once he starts seeing the other kids eating it and he is hungry , he'll start eating it. Funny when the kids are screaming or fighting we wish we had a just minutes to our self, then when their not around us we don't seem to know what to do with the quietness.

i am not sure if they will offer a varity or not, he is in pre k, so i am not sure how that works..

generally kids won't starve themselves for long.
I am surprised that the school had only one lunch option. If a staff member noticed he wasn't eating, could that person get him something else?

My kids are picky in their own ways too. My son loves strawberry milk. He's three. When he gets to school they are only going to offer him chocolate/white milk. It won't kill them. Just teach them new ways of trying things.

My son is picky like that too. He only likes sausage and pepperoni. He will only eat pepperoni if he can have sausage first.
I have trouble getting him to eat the school lunch (we qualify for free lunch so I usually have him eat there) because he doesn't like white bread very much (grain and wheat are what he eats at home) and he hates canned fruit. School lunches are so lousy!

Btw, I prefer meatless pizza myself. But, I just have to have those black olives.

My first son used to be a picky eater but when he started school, everything changed and my second son will eat anything.
