Over the past few years, my guess would be three, maybe four years, I knew something was going on with the way Medicare and Medicaid are funded, but I couldn't place my finger on what it was exactly.
I mean, I knew I no longer qualified for Medicaid, with the stated reason being, I received $40.00 too much in benefits from the federal Social Security Disability Income program.
The simple truth for me was, this fact impacted my life in no way whatsoever.
It mattered very little to me if the healthcare providers weren't going to be paid the 20% Medicaid picked up, they wouldn't blame, me, they'd blame nebulous booger man of "the government."
Sure, junk bills filled my mailbox, so what? I certainly had no money to pay them, as my only income was the disability check I received.
Now I get it.
This has all been a power play from the states, to squeeze the federal government. It wouldn't be a secret to either party, many people were no longer covered by Medicaid, when previously they had coverage.
I never had any doubt about the state's knowledge of the situation, I'm sure they knew very well most of the benefits were now out of reach by less than $100.00 in most instances, like mine. But I never could figure out why they would do it in the first place, now I know.
Isn't it odd the Governors of the states have been relatively silent on this issue, as it affects them and their budgets DIRECTLY ???

wouldn't that 20% hit to the medical industry cause the federal agencies to wonder what's going on ???
I was hoping SOMEONE would comment *chuckle*
