Hello, there !
My name is Theodore. I am my mother's first bear, and patriarch of the Bearington family. Of course, all of our family is adopted, but since I was here first, they all look to me for advice.
I do not know by whom I was created. I was given, however, to my mother when she was quite small: not long after she was born.
I am constructed of a brown, ever-so-slightly fuzzy material, with my forehead, nose, ears and pawpads made of something that reminds my mother of upholstery.
My mother has taken me many places; I have been through many of the United States and to Canada.
The place that sticks in my memory the most is a "trip" of sorts to San Fransisco, when my mother had to have surgery: this was in the year 1976. My mother had something that she called "water on the brain." To me, that sounded extremely uncomfortable. Just the very THOUGHT of my inside stuffing being soaked....{{{shudders}}}.
During the hospital stay, I recieved new eyes. Originally, they were white, and I could see through them just fine, but my mother's mother decided I needed new ones. They are a clear brown, now.
Something else that has happened to my body over the years is that (evidently from years of hugging and kissing) my nose has worn away, revealing my stuffing. I find this embarrassing. My mother sometimes pinches the open parts together, as if contemplating sewing them shut, then decides against it. I wonder if she dosen't want to mar my natural good looks.
In any case, it is nice to meet you all. Other members of my family should be introducing themselves shortly.
Theodore Bearington, Esq.
