Neither side is stupid we just choose the side that is in our best interest and that is all about there is to it. Neither side should attack the other for what best suits them. Trying to insult each other doesn't change our views so it should just stop and let us realize we are not all mind alike.

Right on Rita - we are generally a product of our continued education (or lack thereof) , our friends, the way we were trained, taught and educated while growing up. Also, a reflection of our like-minded friends. We gravitate to those with whom we are comfortable.
However, the name calling is beyond anything I ever encountered, in my lifetime. I believe it's as others state, no valid argument so then the insults and names flow freely. They have a "name" for every view we have an any given subject. Many of these are developed to discredit a specific point of view.

Rita, did you watch the video? It sounds like you didn't because he did not call anyone stupid, quite the contrary...he explains why Liberals think the way they do.

Thank you, it was long but very much worth taking the time. And now, I get it too! I have been having problems with those who will not condemn negative personal behaviors.... Now I understand....

Unfortunately, those who fight against it, are often demonized and end up so bloodied, that they give in because they feel it isn't worth it.

Exactly. And it is totally a tactic. One that comes naturally for some, like breathing; they don't even realize they are doing it.

Take for example on Gather ... the other day someone most of us know was accused of being racist for using the word I think it was "they". A total intimidation tactic ... or a result of what is being talked about in the video. Her point had to be racist else the accuser might have to rethink her own worldview. +shrug+

Wow ... for our Liberal counterparts if any were to watch, I'd suggest easing into it. It's a long video but you can get the gist of it if you start at about minute 29. Watch and listen closely til about minute 36. Then if you want to know how he got there, start from the beginning.

This really explains why some very well-meaning, intelligent people who just want everything to be ok in this world, would adapt the Liberal mindset.

ROFL Well, Jim...there still are those who are evil and/or stupid...but the ones who we know as friends, who we KNOW are not stupid people, and are not evil at heart (you know them...there are a few)...these are the ones he is addressing in the video...they are stuck in a 5 yr old mentality, where good and evil do not exist, just happy faces...they really do think that we should all succumb to forgetting that there is a clear distinction between right and wrong, then there would be nothing left to fight about, in their minds.

Liberals are neither stupid or evil (at least most of them anyway). They believe in things differently than conservatives or indies/libertarians etc. Trying to rationalize or lump them all in sorted boxes is not a way to deal with them nor is calling them names the correct way to have a civil debate. That some of them do this to all who oppose them is no excuse to do the same.

There can be no rational debate with someone who refuses to see that evil is not good, and good is not evil.

The only thing that will happen, is that the LIberal will get mad because he will begin to realize that the conservative has a leg to stand on, and he then has to try to knock it out from under him.

You left a comment about hate speech on one of my threads, and then I find you link to this, rabid, hate-filled man talking about liberals reject all "fact, reason, evidence logic, truth, morality, and decency." You are a true conservative.

What this man says sounds very like what I think of conservatives, but do not say, because although I believe that if conservatives get power and keep it, they will destroy this country and possibly the entire planet, I rarely say so.

NO, not liberals, he says Liberals do that...you missed that whole point and are grouping them together. This man is not hate-filled at all, in fact, he was born and raised in a very Liberal society, as a New York Jew, he sayd that, and he has many friends and family that are Liberal...his whole point is that in trying to understand where they were coming from, because he got a wake up call in one of his conversations that they really DO think a certain way, that he thought they didn't, so to understand that, he began his investigations by asking questions of his family and friends and collegues...because initially, it seemed, by logic, that they were all either stupid or evil and he knew from experience that some were neiter, so he set out to find out why they think they way they do...he admits that these Liberals are the very ones who want to and truly believe they are, doing good to all mankind. You read something into this video that wasn't there. He doesn't love his friends and family any less for the way they believe, he just understands where they are coming from now.

BTW, you are always free to share you opinion, as am I, we may mildly to vehemently disagree, and that's ok...what I was referring to was the mockery of your post, making fun of the way conservatives see things, while GREATLY exaggerating the facts. This is not a tactic you guys like when conservatives engage in it, and you ALWAYS point that out and claim you are ABOVE it, then you post what you did. I disagree. I like a good satire when it's pointed at me as well as when it's pointed at someone else. "GREATLY exaggerating the facts" is a good definition of satire. Yup. Love it. It's lots of fun to write, and to read. I wouldn't call myself a hypocrite; I'm glad you get to compare poop with liberals. I prefer to flush mine.

The video is not hate-speech either, in fact, the man used to be a Liberal, he still has friends and family that he loves dearly that are STILL Liberal, and he understands they want to do good in this world, he explains what he uncovered while researching the "why?" of their thought process, since many things they support do not logically help at all, in fact they clearly make things worse....so he did some investigating and discovered the reasoning behind it all.

Thanks for that video Elizabeth. The truth is ... the facts have been laying at the bottom of my brain in a little pile for a long time. I would ALWAYS know where a liberal would stand on any debate ... but couldn't understand why I knew. Like a jig saw puzzle, this man picked up the pieces and fit them together. It is so helpful.
I disagree a bit on the reason todays liberal dislikes most standards, but that isn't really important. And also, that you for the site in general. I'm anxious to explore a little more. I've passed the Video on to those I believe would profit from hearing it.
