Salmon Season

Salmon season opened on July 16th this year. T-Dawg could hardly wait to get out there. I dropped him off near the beach around 5:30 a.m. He grudgingly put up with my picture-taking. This is the short essay. I went back around 9:30 a.m. and got some more shots of the beach and the boats and T-Dawg fishing, to be posted later.

Oh Alison, you should see them lined up on the Puyallup River. They are thick as thieves and River Road is like a parking lot with all the trucks lined up. I had to laugh as I drove by yesterday, just imagining the salmon daring each other to pass by the line.

It does indeed run high. I told my son-in-law what I saw and his eyes began to glaze over. I have been fighting a headache all day and not doing too much but this storm is blowing down some fall and I had to go out and collect. I do have a few verses floating about in my head and hopefully they will settle. I am collaging the finds and taking photos. That is about my speed today.

Thanks, Nana. It is so exciting for them. T-Dawg didn't catch salmon but he was able to make a meal of the fish he did catch. You'll see in the next photo essay. Though I forgot to take a picture of his plate!
