Hello all my Gather friends on this Labor Day weekend!  So what are you up to?  I am of course watching all the Nascar I can fit into my schedule!  Plus my daughter starts school on the 8th.

Anyway, while writing a Gab-fest I thought I would also share a few of my shadowboxes on my walls, some w/collectibles.  And also I want to wish you all a wonderful Labor Day weekend!  What are you going to be doing?

my daughter starts on Wednesday in our district....I have to go do more school shopping. She needs white shoes for her boces uniform. We picked up her scrubs for the vet course and she looked adorable in them! sheesh..that one course has cost us about 100 dollars so far in supplies...we didnt' even get to all the other ones yet!

i love the shadow boxes...really cool!!...i am glad to report that our weekend has been good so far.....yesterday we cooked out, baked a cherry pie, gave the dogs a bath, and played games....today, it is cold and rainy, so we will play games, watch a movie, and see the tape for yesterday's notre dame game.....

Hey Deb! I think I'm fighting off a virus. I've been in bed most of the day, today. I need to do my errands on Monday. It's so nice to have Sunday night off, meaning I don't have to worry about going to work on Monday. I hope you and Chloe have a great weekend!

I know amanda...I have been fighting that a virus myself!! Just drains me! Nascar RAcenation has already started and will go on until the Nascar race at 7:30 - 11:30!! Yay! I love Nascar...it somehow comforts me!

Judy loves Nascar too. Taking advantage of the local strip here in Vegas. Dinner for 2, buffet, includes prime rib, turkey, salad, drinks and dessert. $7.89 simply, unbelieveable unless your a Vegas local.

I spent most of my Labor Day sleeping. I worked last night and I really wanted to stay up and do some things with Ed. So we started by watching a movie...LOL I probably made it about 10 minutes before I was sound asleep.

it was a wild weekend here.......
we seen a couple of live bands for free at Septemberfest..took in a few rides and we also went to Lincoln for the last State Fair there, starting next year we will have to drive across the state for over 2 hours to get to where thay decided to move it to..I am so sad that this will probably be the last year we go...

and of course the newspapers must be deleivered every day...no rest for the wicked...

Deb, just stopping by to thank you for your help on the computer woes. Having that phone number is a very big deal for the Microsoft people. That may be what my husband tries to do tonight. We've done a lot since the weekend but there is still a popup that was not detected, and it just may take the phone call and time, and this weekend I'd asked my husband about calling them on the phone and of course the mystery of how immediately came up. So glad to have that phone number.

Hope you are having a good day. New week. Oh, and Chloe's gone to school today. Hope it is a very big day for her, and she has a very good time. Take care.

I don't remember how I found that number but one day what happened to you happened to me and I was just beside myself not knowing what to do and I didn't have the money to take it in and get it fixed but then when I called them and told them I had a virus like I did and didn't know what to do they got it taken care of for me. It took a few hours on the phone...but Yay! it worked!!! Of course it might not take you a few hours but I was pretty dumb over the phone knowing just what to do when they told me. They also even give you a backup call in a few days to make sure that they took care of it for you.

Your shadow boxes are so pretty Deb. I love wood art. We have all the equipment to build anything. But Donald only builds what he is paid to build. Do you think If I offer to pay him, I might get him to make me a few of those? LOL.

Oh Deb, he can build anything. Just the body is wearing out and when he is finished with the projects that bring income. Plus the washroom that should have been finished long ago. It was to be the one gather and I built, but with the points moving so slow, I am in debt over my head trying to finish that room.

We went to Missoula on Sat am, got home late Monday and the kids started school on Tuesday. Is Chloe having fun in school? Jacob did NOT like 4th grade and had power struggles all year with the teacher. He wasn't happy about going back but just LOVES his 5th grade teacher. Shan had warned her at the Meet and Greet nite of Jacob's feelings and the teacher said, "Oh I have ways with little boys." And it must be working. She's an experienced teacher and I'm so glad Jacob is excited about school now. Caty and Liam always loved school so no problems there.

Chloe seems to like it so far..has a nice teacher...She sure isn't used to the earlier bedtimes and earlier (than ever) this year mornings! On the bus at 6:30!!!

Wow! That is early! The kids' school doesn't start til 9:10 4 days a wk and at 10:10 on Thursdays. They only live 1/2 mile from school so on nice days I walk them to school and the rest of the time, I drive them and pick them up.

Your shadow boxes are cute Deb! I enjoyed looking at the different photos and what different ones contained. My mom collect angels and it all started when I was a child and bought her a pair of kissing angels for Christmas. She has a shadow box in her laundry room with different things from the years. I like all your bears :0)

I am so proud of you. You are now sharing photos with us. Chloe is so adorable. I raised three, so I know they are not always adorable. The shadowbox articles are great. Wish I could do that.
When I put up photos sometimes it takes me days to get them up. Depends on how my browser feels that day. LOL.

Shadow boxes were very popular in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Eventually they will become fashionable again. Yours look wonderful.
