My husband and I went to the theatre yesterday evening. We had the entire theatre to ourselves. The date, movie and popcorn was wonderful.
G. I. Joe is produced by Paramount Pictures and Hasbro and directed by Stephen Sommers. This movie takes you from the Egyptian Desert to the deep below the polar ice caps. It is action packed from the first scene until the last.
The special effects are enormous. It is interesting to note that the props for G. I. Joe: The Rise of The Cobra" was done by prop master Brad Einhorn, Veteran of several Batman movies. Einhorn said "No props were bought for this movie. We had about 30-40 people in town make them all. Checking every step of the manufacturing of the hundreds of props was a tricky part, going back and forth to the director, making sure he was please"
Einhorn went on to say " The most complicated prop was the "Star of the show" the "nanomite" warheads, which took over three months to fabricate"
I loved the props and the action packed movie held my attention from the first minute of the movie until it was over. It left me hungering for more. The way it ended, I am sure there will be a sequel and I can't wait for it.
The cast include:
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Heavy Duty
Christopher Eccleston as Mccullen/Destro
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as The Doctor/Rex
Byung-Hun Lee as Storm Shadow
Sienna Miller as the Baroness/Ana
Rachel Nichols as Scarlett
Ray Park as Snake Eyes
Jonathan Pryce as the US President
Said Taghmaoui as Breaker
Channing Tatum as Duke
Marlon Wayans as Ripcord
Dennis Quaid as General Hawk
Like any good movie it has good verses evil as well as a bit of a love story in it. I highly recommend it and suggest you view it at the theatre for all the special effects.
G.I. Joe is rated PG 13 for good reason. It is very violent. Their is no nudity or bad language in this movie.
I give this movie a 5 Star and will be purchasing it on DVD as soon as it comes out.
The G.I. Joe team uses the latest in Next Generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into eminent chaos. The ending gave me the impression that there will be a sequel to this movie and I can't wait!
