The morning was going along pretty smoothly........ almost too smoothly. The kids woke up in good moods and there were no set backs getting them ready and into the car to arrive at school on time. I should have known something would come along to throw a monkey wrench in the basket. Something always does, and it makes life a little more exciting.
As I was walking back in the house, getting ready for a peaceful few hours of gathering, laundry, and quiet. I noticed black stuff dripping down my pants leg and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I set my purse down on the table and was sitting down to do some bills. When I picked my purse up, the table had a big black spot on it.

It was those fancy new ink pens that my husband just had to have for work. I guess I used one of them, and put it in my purse with no lid on it. Man it was a mess. There was ink all over the place. I tried sopping it all up with paper towels and I was glad that my kids weren't home because I was spewing four letter words all over the place. That was a very BAD pen. ha ha ha

Both of my hands are now stained with a decorative black ink. My husband came up with a bright idea that spraying DW-40 on my hands and then dumping sugar on them would give me a scrub to take the ink off. Oh Lordy. I was then coughing from the fumes and about to gag. It didn't work by the way.

We had to do a small funeral for my favorite burgandy purse. Off she went to the trash bin. Luckily this purse above saved the day. I purchased this one for a dollar at a yard sale this summer and the tags were still on. I know there is always something to learn from every circumstance you come across. I am declaring ink pens against the law.

I had an accident like this many moons ago, when I was wearing a white knitted sweater....needless to say I no longer have it. I tried bleach, but little did I know that bleach would end up making the shirt fall a part.....two lessons learned ....never buy a white knitted shirt and be aware of ink pens.
Oh, it was just one of those moments. Now I have a new purse. All is well.
Except for my fingers. I need to go and get some bleach at the store. I know that will take it off.
As far as getting ink off your hands, try rubbing alcohol. Nurses are famous for making notes on their skin when paper isn't available, and it comes right off with those little alcohol wipes that are used to clean an area for injections and such.
Now that's a shame, funny, but a shame.
I really, really loved that purse though. *groan*
