67 people have died so far of shock or committed suicide in India after a widely popular politician, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the chief minister in the Andhra Pradesh state, was killed in a chopper crash earlier this week.
The Times of India quotes one of the suicide notes: "YSR dedicated his life to people, I am dedicating my life to him," wrote a young man before consuming pesticide.
Minister's son has "appealed to his late father's admirers to be patient and brave."
"I request you not to commit suicide," he said in a live TV broadcast.
"I appeal to all of you to be patient and be brave in this hour of tragedy. He wanted to see a smile on the faces of all and if you resort to such things (suicide) this will hurt him," he added.
This really is one of those moments when one is left speechless...
