Twitter invades the television screen?

I'm watching one of my favorite television shows right now, the only thing is I can't really enjoy it.  All because in the background at the bottom of the screen there are twitter feeds going on at the same time that the show is going on.  I usually watch television shows with the closed caption on, just in case I miss the audio.  I can always catch what I miss in the caption, but with these twitter feeds showing while the show is on, is really irritating.  I'm already not a twitter fan, as I don't use it personally, although my wife loves it.  Well this little nuisance isn't doing anything to help me like the service any better.  The show I'm watching is "Fringe."

What will happen next?  Facebook and maybe even Gather on the television screen?

Man, anything for advertising huh?
What next, interrupting the program at a crucial point, to say buy my product?
I've even seen my favorite soaps hocking cereal and other things, right within the show.
It's so very tacky.
didn't have anything to do with the program either other than being a distraction.

Was this deliberate? While channel surfing, i notices and found it irritating, even while briefly trying to watch.
I'm not sure. I forgot the show was coming on, until I turned the show on. Hopefully it was a one time thing.

Seems similar to the constant feeds that run at the bottom of sports or news programs.
I rarely watch those type of shows so it wouldn't bother me much.

Very annoying. I hate it when weather alerts scroll across the screen but I know THAT'S a necessary messaage. Twitter is not.
The weather alerts come and go quickly, I don't really mind them as they provide neccessary important information. This twitter feed simply had some irratating conversation going on and it stayed on during the entire show. =(

I know!!! I love FRINGE. I just tweeted and asked if FRINGE is filmed in L.A. but did not have my laptop with me so could not see the response.

This all started last year on LOST. Remember? It was very annoying indeed, but I do not think they used Twitter.
I don't watch lost, but it sure was weird seeing it during the entire program.

Wow, I didn't think they would do that on a broadcast network show. Sure, cable drives me nuts with little messages, or a corner of the screen having an animated preview of another show while the actual show I'm watching is going on. I really hate that.
LoL ~ I forgot cable does that. I used to like to know what was coming up next just so that I could know whether or not to prepare to change the channel

And now it isn't just for the shows that follow the existing show. It's for upcoming shows, next week's shows, it's too much!
Wow, that is a bit TOO MUCH INFO (TMI) ~ LoL, I wouldn't know now though, we don't pay for cable these days. Just simply enjoy the shows we have been all along on regular television.

They're bringing back the old game show Let's Make a Deal. Wayne Brady is going to be the host. I love him. I wish he would have hosted The Price is Right over Drew Carey. Not that I watch it anyway.

Anywho, it will be on CBS and will air in primetime. It might be something one can watch with the whole family.

that would be highly annoying. I joined twitter as a means to promote my book, but honestly it just seems like everyone is there to promote their stuff, not to read anything! LOL I don't know. I guess I just don't "get it" with that site.
it is a good marketing tool, but it needs some fine tuning, and it doesn't need to be showing up on a television show, what's purpose does it have on there other than to be annoying

It started with sports then the news so now to the actual shows.

Oh my goodness, that's so funny. My husband and I never watch that show but we were just flipping through channels the other night and that show happened to be on and we noticed that too at the bottom of the screen. We watched it for about 5 minutes and couldn't believe they actually had that on there. It was very annoying to see that on there. We're fans of the show House. I sure hope I don't see that on there when it comes back on this month. I will be very upset and annoyed.
