Doing a five minute freewrite in the rain

It begins here, my first attempt at a five minute free write. I  am having trouble collecting my thoughts, however I will give it a go. Normally I use  tten thousand word when one hundred will do, but here ai I need to make the effort .

 

It is raining, hard. Complete with thunder boomers and lightning. Occaisonal squalls are beating against the window and the palm trreees are dancing to a tropical jig. The canal that runs through my property is on the edge of rising over the banks, fortunately I am even higher. Ther is virtually no chance of flood.

 

Bam, that was the loudest one yet and I have lost my satellite TV. I can see the shadows created by the lightning and now they grow even staonger. We are  in the apex and about to feel the full effects of natures fury .

 

And that is all the time I have……

 

Spell check  and the calm will have to wait.

I should try one of these some day. It would fun to see how I would write without making all the corrections I would have to. In fact, I had to correct about three errors in just this comment!

Ah, but yu are welcome to them. Teh sky is dark and ominous and I have to pickup a friend and drive him about twenty miles. Not looking forward to it and the ark is not quite finished.

No damage, just a lot of wind, thunder and rain. We have had one every day this week. Summer int he Sub-tropic. It's fun.

Maybe, you should know by now. The other thing heading your way is us. Jamie and I are going to Port Orange outside Daytona to visit friends for the weekend. I may or may not be online.

Lucky you didn't lose the computer too. I had to reinstall Windows for my son after a thunderstorm knocked out power while his computer was doing an update.

When it is storming, and in the summer it is frequent, I unplug and run on battery.

I went to open a refridge with a metal handle during a thunderstorm that the lightning went under the ground and broke the water pipe in the basement. Meanwhile I was thrown backwards and my hand was numb and swelling. The EMT's said that I was lucky because it usually goes into the heart. It came in my hand and went out the same way. Just had to have a ring cut off my finger. That's all. So much for my love of thunderstorms.

Now David! What I want to know is how you knew there would be the crescendoing thunderstorm to accompany this really dramatic five minutes. Did you study the weather report and say as you noted 3:01 Okay God I'm writing now do YOUR bit!!!!! Ha!Ha! Pretty well coordinated I must say! I think you are just the writer who can write well, anytime, anywhere during any circumstance!!

You have a rich vocabulary. I own probably three straight-forward thesauruses and a slang thesaurus, plus an on-line thesaurus and a talking dictionary from Franklin that has a thesaurus in it. It's a handheld device that I carry with me at all times. :-) Well, not when I'm dancing.

David, you've heard about how we learn to read? Eventually, the first and last letters of a word need to be correct, the rest can be a jumble and our eyes still decipher it.
