Located close to the Jharkhand border, Nalhati is a small municipality town in the Birbhum district of West Bengal. Nalhati comprises five gram panchayats, Banior, Kurumgram, Bautia, Barla, Kalitha Paikpara, Kaitha I and II, Haridaspur, Bara I, Bara II, Bhadrapur I and II, Noapara and Shitalgram. The entire geographicaln area of Nalhati has been divided into two administrative blocks, Nalhati block I and Nalhati block II.
