This month's challenge is based on Saul Steinberg's 1961 drawing Untitled (see below). You may recognize his style since he was a frequent New Yorker magazine cover artist. Steinberg had an amazing imagination in my opinion.
The object of the challenge is to take the drawing and them interpret it, tell us what it says to you. If it can be in just about any form you like including poetry, short story, photography, painting (or other visual medium), essay (somehow related art) etc.
Your interpretation does not have to be something new written etc. just for this challenge, if you have something that fits it you can submit it for the challenge.
Interpretations of this drawing will be featured in the group Art - Any Medium. (Except visual interpretations which cannot be featured, sorry. Depending on how many I get I may publish something with links to them.) I hope many of you will try this, I would like to thank those that do in advance.
Please make sure you add to your title September Art - Any Medium Challenge and submit it to this group (and any other groups you choose). If you are not a member of Art - Any Medium already please join, all are welcome whether you are an artist, writer etc. or an art lover. The deadline is 30 September 2009.
If you have any questions about this challenge please ping or e-mail me. I look forward to your interpretations.

In life, we are faced with many challenges. It is how we learn to face those challenges that decides the quality of our lives. We can face them head-on and say, "You don't scare me, come on!!!" We can be fearful and allow those challenges to reduce the quality of our lives. I chose not to do that. I live life to the fulllest. I let the world come on in and come what may.

PS: Feel free (Jan, you too) to also post any challenges to this group and also First Time Writers - many people are helped in their writing by these challenge.
