I was trying to take it easy my first semester so that I didn't get too over my head. Unfortunately, I took it too easy, and ended up taking classes I shouldn't have. Fortunately I recognized the math class as a problem right away and changed to Intermediate Algebra. This class too is really easy, but I feel it is still the right choice as I feel that most of what I know is stuck and this class will draw it back out. By next semester I should remember everything I've forgotten and will be more comfortable taking Algebra 21 (college level algebra). As much as I love math, I'm not sure that I will need more than this.
When I had decided to take English 04 (Basic writing and essays) I thought this would be good. Actually, it's more about the punctuation and the proper usage of words. The professor said, after evaluating some of my writing, said I needed a more advanced class. However, English 15 was full and I really thought that too much time had passed for me to even think about Honors English. It appears that they may have spit one of the earlier classes to make room for the few of us that needed to move to English 15, because places became available yesterday afternoon. I added English 15, dropped English 04, but had to wait until today to exchange my books because the book store had closed already. I also sent off an e-mail to the professor teaching this class and explained the situation. I asked what I could do to get caught up. I received an e-mail later that that evening saying that I should not worry, that she would see to it that I get caught up, and that I wasn't that far behind at this point. (Yay!).
So this morning I went over to the book store after breakfast to exchange my books. It was closed!! All summer it was open 8:30 to 4:30, Monday thru Thursday and closed on Friday. Then during the first week they were open 8:00 to 6:00 the whole week. Now they were open 8:30 to 4:30 M, W, Th, and F. Open 10:00 to 6:00 on Tuesday. Crap!! I had to sit in my car for half an hour. The upside was that I got a full refund on my book and the new book (actually two of them) coast less than the first. So I'm ahead by five dollars!
So now my classes are at 9am, 11 am and 1 pm. Which means, basically I will be staying on campus until 2pm. David and I have come up with a good plan though; he will bring a double lunch to school and I will eat lunch with him in his office. Works out perfectly. And between 10 and 11 I'll take my laptop over to the library and study.*cough*
