Whew! What a day!

Today, my living room and hallway got painted. Let me tell you why this was such an accomplishment.

My late husband and I were (are) big procrastinators. I admit, he was a lot worse than I am, and I usually wouldn't nag at him (too much LOL) to get things done. We decided the living room and hallway really needed painting, so I went and bought a big 5 gallon bucket of paint, rollers, brushes, dropcloths, the works. That was 4 years ago.

That's right, I bought the stuff 4 YEARS ago and it sat in the corner of the room like a naughty child all this time LOL!

After my husband passed away last year, I didn't even care whether the rooms got painted or not. Well, today my dad, my brother and my brother in law all came over and painted and got it done real quick. It looks so nice now.

Next, I want to paint my bedroom. I wonder how may years that will take me?

There's really not much to take a picture of yet. It's just re-painted white, and I haven't got any pictures up yet. I did buy one really nice picture for over the couch. I'm going to hang it after the paint is good and dry.

No before, (the walls were way too dirty and dingy), and as soon as I can get my new pictures hung up, I'm going to take some pics to post.

Well it was probley better that daddy didn't help because lord only knows what would have happend with them 4 guys, paint, and a couple of beers. Your floors and furniture might match the walls.

But at least you put those guys to work.....

I'm a procrastinator too, so I'm not going to chastice you for that as lightniing would strike me! I'm proud of you and I'm glad that you're happy with the job. Sheila, you're one of my newest heroes. If I had been your shoes, I would have probably just given away (maybe even thrown away) the paint and forgotten about it. the way you are moving ahead even though it's so difficult and I know you're still in pain is a wonderful inspiration for us all. I have to laugh because my husband has been going to refinish the French Doors. He filled in the scratches (left by our renter's dog) sanded the areas down and used masking tape to outline the glass...he did that 4 years ago. He keeps saying he will get it done. Maybe someday!
