Sacrifice is mortifying hallucinogen
A denigrating opiate
Subtly desiderates quiescence
Flaunts obligation and manipulates.
The veiled irony at times
Is the satire of denial
Inherent willingness to give is profaned
Blithe persuasions seem noble desires.
No fortunate Abraham spared by a ram
In my tests and trials of faith
For this obsession to please everyone
My Issac tastes the ruthless blade.
With dismay I survey the shambled self
The desecration of sweet pleasures
Track the sequence of bleak actions
Bleaker still, for my ilk surrendered.
Impervious then to blandishments
Deaf to undeserved curse
Delight in quintessence of being myself
Selfishly spared retrospective tears.
(* Reference to Issac is the innocence we all have within us)
