Well not really, but an Idaho Republican leader and would be Governor did make an off hand comment that suggested as such, while speaking at a Republican rally. Rex Rammell an Idaho Republican who is slated to run against Governor C.L. Otter in next year’s election made the comment “The Obama tags? We’d buy some of those.”, after he was asked about “Obama tags” when answering questions about the proposed wolf hunt, in which hunters would be required to purchase wolf tags.
Rammell, who calls Rexburg Idaho home, seems to have great company, as it seems that his slip of the tongue is nothing but a small peek into the mind of many Southerners who still are fighting the civil war, a war which it seems that even the young in Rexburg are not immune to, as is apparent in the death chants of “Assassinate Obama” shouted by students in Rexburg after last year’s Presidential election.
I normally don’t give much leeway when it comes to any sort of intolerance or stupidity, but in this case I will give Rammell some wiggle room and will attribute his comment to some sort of genetic abnormality which I have always felt was the root cause behind racism.
So once again a member of the GOP has shown just how much intolerenace and hate is part of the Republican Party legacy. Well that might be a little shortsighted of me to say such a thing, but with individuals such as Rx Rammell calling themselves a Republican, there might also be a little truth to it
