Our Iron Poet Competition has drawn to a close, and we are pleased to announce the winners!
Third place was a tie between Mustafa and Tommy! Congratulations, you two!
Second place was Adrian! Well done!
And for first place, the poet with the highest final score and winner of the title of Iron Poet, we have:

Atticus! Feel free to snag the graphic and "wear" it with pride, Atticus! We salute you!
The winning entries:
#1.
I on trail in Appalachia
Rolling down mountains,
doubt fogs all my assumptions.
I am inconstant.
The cool of this morning air,
tempers the ascent of stone.
#2
On the Gravity of Apples and the Sobriety of Angels
Never informed by the sobriety of angels,
You have been this way since before
Jesus wept.
I dare not call you capricious,
in describing your erratic disguising;
you remain unbruised
or scared by the gravity of apples.
Yet you are not at all
inconstant,
you devilish dog star rising.
#3
The Moon InConstantiople
In Constantinople they cried
A sword in Constantine's side
The inconstant moon
had signaled their doom
And the Byzantine Empire died

You mean I didn't win?
And to a formidable duo of dash and panache, Mustafo and Tsunami, congrats.
What writing represented with all of the entries... most exciting!
It was such a thrill to receive second that my poor computer, as collaborator, slipped into catatonia and has had a hard time peeking back out since.
(Hey Corinna, James, do you think you could hold that check until monday?)
(Also, congratulations!)
Thanks James and Corinna for hosting another successful showdown. The energy that people are putting into these is contagious. Maybe I'll see you again...around high noon.
And to the other competitors, I would like to express my admiration for you all.
...my third poem is still floating around in my head...it will get to paper here soon and when it does I will post it for some good ol' critique from you fine folks at HPC.
Wonderful to be a part of.
