Is Anyone Else Having Trouble Posting Photos?

I posted a photo earlier today, and I noticed that there weren't that many views on it. I thought that it was strange, but I didn't really think that much about it. A few minutes ago, though, I posted another picture. This one has 1 view, 2 votes, and 2 comments. How does that happen? At least two people had to have "viewed" the photo, so the views on the pictures obviously aren't updating properly.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or if it is a glitch on Gather. These pictures are not in albums, but I didn't think that they had to be posted to an album. Rather, I thought that the albums were just a convenient way to group pictures together. Was I wrong?

If I understand the latest changes to the point system on Gather, the "value" of our content is determined by the number of views it receives. Therefore, if the views are not updating accurately, then the points will not accumulate properly, either. It is hard enough at the moment to get points on this site, so I really would like to correct this situation as soon as possible. Has anybody else had this problem, and do you know how to correct it?

Must of been something wrong because Gather would not let me posts pictures late last night. Pics seem to be working now as I just posted some.

I had a problem posting a picture a couple weeks ago, but I though it had something to do with the fact that it was a scanned image. Instead, maybe it is an intermittent problem or glitch on Gather.

I haven't posted anything in a few days so I don't know if there's a problem or not. I have noticed the oddity of the counts (views, comments, etc) that you've mentioned. That has been going on a while and I don't know how it can happen that way.

It really doesn't make sense. I haven't noticed it on my articles, but I wasn't really paying all that much attention. It might be something related to the pictures or maybe it just stands out more on my pictures, because they get less views than the articles. I'm glad that I'm not the only one noticing it, though.

I'm going to try to post a photo essay today, so I will try to pay attention to it. Maybe you can send an email to Kevin or Gather support and ask them about it. Who knows? They may have an answer. If you find out, please let me know.

The applet that helps the load (Java-based) was loading slowly this afternoon but was working. Sometimes it is faster -- maybe you just hit at a bad time.

That makes sense I guess. The part that updates the comments and votes was working faster than the part that tallies the views. Then eventually the view count should catch up and be accurate, so in the end the points will catch up, too. Thanks for the information, Debra.

I had this problem in the past, but lately no problem.
I've notice that my points went up after I did a lot of comments on others post. I know that our content is determined by the number of views. But my points went up after commenting on many posts in the last couple days.
