What ever happened to punishment that fits the crime??

I got something similar and passed it right on to Yahoo security with full headers.

I don't know why Yahoo gets hit with this stuff.

Yes, I get these emails from all over....all the time and I spam them or if it looks like the email is from a reputable company I work with, I email them the link which was sent to my email. I also look at the FULL headers to see where it came from..

I would imagine that there are countless morons who will respond to this.

A lot of this comes from forein countries that do not monitor hackers.

They sent one to me two months ago. I never even bothered to open it but some firiends of mine did and actually gave them what they wanted. Some few months later, they sent strange mails to us their friends on behalf of our real friends who gave out their passwords.

My friends had to change their passwords. lol

It is only spam. It's annoying, but the best thing to do is to ignore it. Alternatively, you can report it to Yahoo and see if they will do anything with it.

I finally started getting most of my email thru my Yahoo account. theri spam blocker has worked very well. It took a few weeks to train it.. but it now seperates as many as 100 pcs of crap including stuff like that a day.... you have to wrok at training it, but it works...now I bet I dont see one peice a month in my inbox and its always something very very new and strange

Yeah I hate this stuff. I always find the spam or spoof email for the company the phishers are trying to copy and forward the email right to them.

I like to think people are smarter than to fall for that but sadly some people would. No legitimate site would ever ask for your password.

Seriously though, when I get this kind of thing from someone masquerading as a representative of a financial institution, I go to their web site and report it.

I've received this a billion times in my Bulk folder (spam folder). I delete it the second I see it. What idiots do they think they are sending this to?

I've gotten it from "ebay" and sent the emails on to them which is what the real ebay wants you to do.

I love the ones that say they know what a wonderful person I am but the need my info to give me the funds I deserve from some strange sounding place...yea, if I'm so deserving you should already know my info.

I once got a check in the mail and I knew it was bogus. I call the bank it was drafted on in Chicago and they requested I give it and the attached letter to my local police, which I did. They had an investigation going as the account didn't exist. By sending the amount back to the people who issued the check you were told you would receive another check worth millions....ah the greed kicks in and some people fall for it.

Hey I'm still waiting for publishers clearing house to come to my door with my big big check. Last I heard someone with my initials and going to win a prize..wow...

I get fraudulent emails from my bank. If your email address and your name are not in the header and the body of the email, it is fake.

You better get that mail answered ,this is serious stuff !!!

I fell for it...once...it was my work email ~ the address ended up being compromised, I called the carrier, since it was in the treasurer's name (an old lady who wouldn't know a computer if it bit her on the butt), I couldn't fix it. I had to have HER fix it, she almost blew an artery in her head trying to figure it out and then straighten it out. Now I say that I'm her when I have to call. The carrier told me when I called back that if I ever did it again, they'd close our account. Great. Now I get emails from my own email address for Viagra, dates, hot watches, etc....My theory now is this...I know who I am, I won't confirm it for anyone.

You would be surprised at how many people will fall for something like this. I just warned one of my friends, that just newly aquired a computer, about this so he doesn't fall for it.
