And spreads her smile wider

Brilliant sunlight at start of day.

You imagine her as she looks
Around, wondering who may have
Seen her joy and thrill, and the words
Texted and the love maybe intended,
By whoever tapped her the message
From somewhere forever or maybe not,
But if the love will last, or is real,
Or just imagined, you do not know,
And will not, or care not, as you sip
Your coffee from your place in
The crowd, looking as her eyes
Close clutching her dream
Like a cat its prey hoping, no
Doubt, it will last and not end
There and then on that first day.
