I would like to share photos of the area surrounding Ellensburg. The small city in Central Washington State where I live.
Starting on the Thorp Cemetery Road which is a scenic strip of road that runs along side I-90 outside the town of Thorp.
This is a small herb farm.

A wonderful shot of the Stuart Range behind the hills, and under clouds.

One of the many old farm buildings along the way.

Majestic cliffs are common in the area. See the old land slide ?

The gap between the two hills pictured here is the Tanuem Canyon area where I am headed this trip.

The Taneum Canyons main road starts with lots of rock formations right next to it.

Several miles up the canyons road we arrive at our destination. Here is a photo of a small off shoot of the Tanuems main creek.

The next shot is of the main creek where someones dammed it. Which makes for a grand swimming hole but is illegal.

August 12th 2009 the early morning sun peeks from behind the hillside.

Sunlight glistens off the small creek.

A large hawk soars overhead looking for a meal far below.

Stormy skies on the 13th.

Two more photos of the smaller creek.

Sunrise on the morning of the 14th, we left shortly after breakfast.

Same morning same time looking slightly to the southwest. Early morning moon shot.
