  Nora Roberts is writing as J.D. Robb.

 

This book is about The Swisher family that gets murdered in their beds except for one member a 9 year old girl Nixie Swisher she is in the kitchen at the time  the murder is happening. The killers are pros but they made a mistake of leaving a little 9 year old girl behind. Now they want to go backo try to kill Nixie.

Litutentant Eve Dallas's life becomes a nightmare from the past dealing with what has happened to this child. She is reliving her past all over again.

This takes place in the year 2059 Secerity Systems have night vision. The cars are more up todate and more high tech.

Eve takes this case personally and protects Nixie and and finds the evil killers. Emotinal ties are tough for Eve but she cleans her memory closest in the process of dealing with this case.

 

 

I really enjoyed reading this book. This is the first book that I have read of Nora Roberts's but I am sure to buy more.

Excellent review. It sounds very good, but how gory is it? I just can't handle blood and guts well at all. Otherwise, I'd really like to read it.

I don't find any of the JD Robbs books all that gory - I LOVE Eve and Roarke .... it's an excellent series

I love reading Dean Koontz he has wrote a lot of good books. This book wasn't as bad as some of the books that I have read by Dean Koontz

This was a good book, awful sad in parts, the murder and when little Nixie sees her parents in the morgue. Very emotional. I've read all of the "In Death" series and Lt. Eve Dallas is one of my favorite characters of all the series I read!

This is one of my favorite series of books. My aunt gave me the firist six or seven in her series, but there was one skippped. I found it later and have collected the rest since then. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

That sounds like a good one! I've read some of hers in the past, and they always seemed to be cheesy romances with the same story, just different names. This is quite different.

This is a GREAT novel!!! I love JD Robb. Not a big fan of Nora Roberts' books (mostly romance) however as JD Robb, she is quite the thriller author.

I like Nora Roberts, for the most part. But, some of her books are purely in the romance genre and I don't really care for those. I like her suspenseful ones though

Yeah this was the first book I have read by her. I liked it pretty good. I will proberly stick with the J.D. Robb ones. I'm not crazy about romance books either. I like suspense books better.

This is so interesting. I read a book (historical mystery) about 2 years ago that had this exact plot, but instead of being set in the future, it was set in the past (1800s San Francisco at the time of the big earthquake). Do you think she borrowed the idea or is it possible for two authors to come up with the same plot?
