Must have for the B5 fan

'The Passing of the Techno-Mages Book 1: Casting Shadows' by Jeanne Cavelos, Based on an outline by J. Michael Straczynski

Wow! What a fascinating insight into the world of the Techno-Mage. Although they only appeared once during Babylon 5, and then again in Crusade and The Lost years, very little is actually known about them. About all we were told is that they used science like magic. In Book 1, we are given an inside look at their training and lives, how they graduate from apprentice to full mage, and how the technology works with their body. We also learn the inside secret as to 'why' the Techno-mages fled known space and hid during the Shadow War. Not to mention the full story of what happened to Isabelle that is only hinted at in the Crusade episode 'The Well of Forever'. There are many other secrets shared in the pages and I wouldn't think of spoiling it for the reader who has not yet enjoyed the story. I highly recommend this book for the avid B5 fan, as well as anyone who writes fanfiction. I myself am using the information gathered here in several of my online FF pieces, making certain to add the appropriate footnote to credit Jeanne Cavelos and JMS.
