Oak Barrel Restaurant, Lebanon, Kentucky

My home is in Texas but I travel a lot and restaurants are always a part of my travels.  During one of my many trips this summer, I stopped at the Oak Barrel restaurant in Lebanon, Kentucky on a recommendation from a friend of mine who has dined there.  My friend was correct.  The Oak Barrel is an outstanding dinning place.  The service was wonderful and attentive and the menu was varied and the prices were very reasonable compared to most specialty restaurants.  My friend had one of the best looking hamburgers I have ever seen while I had a broiled chicken plate that was so large I could not finish it.  My friend finished it for me.  The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented.  The atmosphere was reminiscent of an old English Pub/Eatery and was filled to capacity with happy diners.  For those of you who want to enjoy a special dinning treat while passing though or for anyone blessed enough to live in this small town, I highly recommend the Oak Barrel restaurant in Lebanon, Kentucky.  You won’t be disappointed.

I doubt I'll ever get to Kentucky, but that sounds like a fun place to eat!

We do travel through Kentucky to Nashville, TN from time to time to see my husband's sister, but I don't know if we pass near this restaurant. Sounds wonderful.

great review, where is the picture of your food and surroundings? I sneak in some quick photos when I can, not always possible though, people around you might think it kind of strange for you to pull out a camera and take a photo of your plate, but then again, I think hey.....there are more wierd things that happen in life, why not do it, and just act like it is an everyday occurence, who's business is it anyway?

True. I really wasn't thinking about doing a restaurant review until I returned home and was reflecting on what a nice time I had while dining in this restaturant. Of course, I do realize that no one will ever stop there, but you never know. Someone might. It was a nice fun place with good food.
