Hmmm... How Many Birds can Visit my BirdBath in 45 Minutes???

On late afternoon last Fall, I sat on my deck and took photos of the birds visiting my birdbath.  They came one after the other after the other.  Such entertainment!  Here is a sampling of the ones that visited in a 45 minute period in the order they came along. 

Can you count them?

 

 

First two American robins and a female cardinal

A little tufted titmouse (yes... that really is it's name!)

Another tufted timouse came along, as well as, an American goldfinch

Tufted titmouse in the middle of a cool refreshing bath

A cute little Carolina chickadee

A pesky northern mockingbird

Another American goldfinch

A beautiful male cardinal

Another tufted titmouse takes a cool drink

A sweet little female cardinal

 And, the my absolute favorite, a male Eastern bluebird!

 

So, did you count them as you enjoyed the show?

My mom and dad have a birdbath that gets numerous visitors. My camera isn't good enough to get any shots of them though.

I am SO jealous.... I just got 2 birdbaths last week and so far, I can't seem to get any to come around!! I thought for sure they would because I have had many "sand" bathing in my sand pit!! I've heard they use the sand to get the bugs out of their feathers. I wish they'd come and use the WATER bath, too.

Give it some time, Joy. Just like feeders, the birds need time to find them. Are there any bushes or trees near to the birdbaths for the bird to feel like they have a quick place to flee and to dry off? They like some shelter around them. Good luck!

now that is a lot of birds, we have 3 birdbaths and they rarly come to them, my mom set an old skillet outside to throw away but before I could get it to the trash it started raining filled with water and birds love it :( go figure so its sitting out side still 3 years later as a bird bath LOL

Sue, everyone is so pretty. I don't think we have anything blue around here except for a blue jay. I'm so tempted to put out feeders, but I'm worried the kitties will attack.

Lovely essay - I can't decide which bird I like best - they are all beautiful!

Rose, we have cats in the neighborhood and they don't come around often to the feeders. If you have shrubs around/near your feeders the birds have a place to escape. It is so enjoyable watching the birds! I think you should give it a try and see what happens!
