It's summer in the city and we are watching the
world go by at the local Tampa Brewing Co.

Plaza in Centro Ybor

Having grown up in Europe, I do miss sidewalk
cafes, which is one reason why I like hanging out
in Ybor.
You'll find cigar shops, authentic live cigar rolling
demonstrations and a cigar factory museum in
Ybor City to honor it's heritage.

(if this photo looks familiar, it is because I posted a b/w and a color version of this photo already - indulge me, it is my favorite shot)
Ybor was built by enterprising Cuban and
European Immigrants
in 1886.

This city has known
boom and bust, experienced a devastating decline
to slum status and crime until it's revitalization by
the city of Tampa and private enterprise in the
year 2000.

Take a look through the lens of my camera
exploring the architecture and hopefully capturing
the vibe around the plaza called Centro Ybor.

Ice Cream Parlors - Cafes - Eateries galore

A great place for people watching from the balconies ...

Ybor parties all night long
so almost nothing opens before
eleven in the morning.

The Muvico theatre and Tampa Bay Brewing Co.
are located in a complex
right across the street.
Architectural angles everywhere ...

The street cars are popular with the tourists.

There are parts of Ybor which exude a
contemporary city vibe, but you never escape the
feeling of history all around you.

Ybor is a major tourist attraction,
if you like to party in the street and in the clubs
put this place on your list
to visit on your next vacation in Florida.

Anything interesting?

Here are our friends to join us for a dinner and a
brew at the Tampa Brewing Co.

We all recommend the food and the brew - you
should drop by some time:)

Thank you for looking!
I hope you have enjoyed our stroll around
Centro Ybor plaza.
