2 Students Charged After Prank Results In Fatal...

Two college students pulled a prank on a friend. When he walked into the room, they both were holding a gun and pulled the trigger. Their friend died. They say they didn't think the guns were loaded.

This is such a tradgedy. As the mother of 2 college students, I can't even begin to imagine how his parents must be feeling. Classes were starting today, what should have been an exciting fun day is now a horrible day for his family. And, I'm sure a horrible day for the parents of the boys with the guns. Why were college students playing with guns? Why did they even have guns with them at school? This is so, so sad. I've had tears in my eyes ever since I heard about it. I'm praying for all involved.

Sherry, this is ever so sad! I feel for the family that lost their loved one. In reading some of the comments on the news link you shared, I found it appalling that with a life lost and two lives tainted, that the comments were filled with animosity instead of compassion!

Probably since we just took our kids back to their colleges over the weekend, it really hit me hard. I just kept thinking how terrible to receive that phone call those parents received. I read all those comments from the newspaper too.

This is a horrible tragedy but I truly believe the boys who were pulling the prank should be punished for murder - they killed their friend. Accident or not they murdered the boy.

John - Personally I believe that criminals are going to get guns regardless of whether we restict the ease of buying or not. By putting too many "gun laws" out there we are only restricting the people who would be using them to defend their homes and properties from the criminals who can obtain them easily illegally. That is just my personal opinion.

I believe these boys should be punished!

I agree they need to be punished. They had to have known better then to play with guns. I can't believe they let them out on bail already.

This is really sad and I would like to know why they have a loaded gun on campus too, they are to old to be playing with guns anyway......

Yes, I'd like to know if they had a permit to have it. It makes no sense they would have it, wonder why they took it with them to start with?

That is so hard for me to believe that they didn't know the guns were loaded. They just grabbed and went with it? I'd think they'd do a practice shoot or something. I wonder if their story is just to get out of being charged for murder.

I feel so sorry for all of their families though.
