Newcastle under Lyme
Newcastle under Lyme Staffordshire England that’s were I live. It is a small little market town In England. Newcastle under Lyme has two large gardens that you can enjoy, it also has an art gallery, and a museum set in 8 acres of parkland. It is an historical town that lies on the road to London, it is an easy place to live with a good tradition atmosphere, and the market is one of the oldest in England and it dates from the 1100s. People that live in Newcastle under Lyme just call it castle, the marke
t that we have is an open market was set on cobbled stones, whenever someone from Newcastle goes shopping, we say we are going to the stones.
Situated in small valley we had a castle that has long gone the Lyme derives from medieval days where there were lime forests that covered the area, hence new castle under lime that become Newcastle under Lyme.

Now it is an extensive town that houses over 73,000 people of all lifestyles.
The town itself retains its old world charm; there are plenty of small shops and cafes and plenty of small pubs to wet anyone's appetite. It also has some of the best nightlife in the area as my daughter can testify.
The area is easy to get to with the M6 motorway that runs by the side of the town, we do not have a train station, the nearest that we have is at Stoke on Trent just 5 miles away, there is a good bus service and the road layout is easy to navigate.
Newcastle un
der Lyme is a good place to explore from; Chester is just 35 miles away, Shrewsbury the same, Warwick castle and Shakespeare country is only 1 ½ hours away, Nottingham from where the legendry Robin Hood came from is only 1 hour away, Manchester, and Birmingham are just 40 miles away, and are easy to get to. The Peak District is not far away just a short drive in a car. We have a theme park just 15 miles away set in gardens its name is Alton Towers, we cater for all religions from Christian to Islam.
The surrounding countryside is easy to get to with plenty of country pubs that cater for every need from just relaxing with a pint to eating a four-course meal.
I have travelled all over the world but something always brought me back to Newcastle under Lyme to me this is my home and I am rightly proud to live in this place. Next year I am going to open my home on a Bed and Breakfast basis so that I can share my hometown with others. People from other countries always seem to come to my country and go to London, while London is one of the best destinations that any one can go to, so many people miss out on the real England, that is a shame England has plenty of other areas like mine with a load of special history that they miss out on. All are welcome to visit my town and see how we live outside of the capital. Just drop me an email and I will see what I can do. Below you can see my house and the countryside that we can see from our house. find where we live on Google earth area code st54hb

I used to like the hustle and bustle of my birth town, London, now when I return I find I prefer the countryside too.
I know Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Sunderland, but under-Lyme is lovely!
I stay up in Burnhill green, nr. Wolverhampton, or in Somerset when I go over now.
