Hi everyone, i'm new here. I have problems sleeping most nights of the week. I just bought a bottle of Melatonin, but am still apprehensive about using it. I've done extensive research, but would like to hear actual testimonies from people that have used it. I read that it causes frightening, vivid nightmares upon first taking it. Please share your stories of experiences with Melatonin...

I have run out again and am not sleeping as well without it but then it's really hot at night lately too. What I DON"T experience is what someone warned me about: "If you take something for sleeping you'll get hooked and won't be able to sleep without it." No rebound after if wears off. And I'm not sleepy all the next day.
I mentioned these things because that's what I worried about before I tried it.
Maybe, and I have read nothing at all to make me think this, but maybe it depends on what kind of sleeping problem you have whether melatonin will help you. If I had any kind of memory I could be influenced by the placebo effect but I'm pretty sure you have to remember you've taken something for that to work. :)
I took 3 mg melatonin for 3 nights. I did go to sleep quickly and peacefully. The dreams I had were no more dramatic than normal, although I did remember them clearing upon waking. However, I did have bad side effects. I woke up with a headache that progressively got worse until I went to sleep the next night. I had a headache constantly for 3 days... The last two nights I didn't take anything and have slept well.
I hope you keep sleeping well.
