Thursday I went to my two younger children's open house. First thing we did was check out the bus schedule. My daughter was suppose to be placed on one of those shorter buses. As it was added in to her 504 last year. A regular bus is to much for her, two much going on at one time. She was suspended last year off the regular bus. (To learn why read a post I created : My daughter was kicked off the bus) But my daughter was on the list to get on the regular bus with her brother. So, I mention something. I was directed to another man. I told him the situation. He gave me a number to call the next day. As the place was already closed for the day.
So, I went to meet my daughters teacher. He is the same teacher my son had last year. He did not seem to want to listen when I was explaining about my daughter having ADHD and further paperwork will be required for him to fill out from the psychologist in a few months. Matter of fact he walked off from me two times. He sounded like he wanted to argue with me when he made a comment about my daughter. I immediately told him that I know my daughter is smart and intelligent. That is not she is but I am trying to tell him that she is unlike her brother. So do not expect her to act like him. She learns at her own pace, her way. He just looked at me like I was stupid. You know what kind of look I am talking about. Hey, I tried to warn him...he will see.
After leaving there I seen my sons teacher. Man she seems like she expects the kids to act like little soldiers. I hope I got the wrong impression of her. Otherwise this will be a long year.
The next day I called the number the man gave me about getting a smaller bus for my daughter. I was hung up on. I called back. Than was transferred to a voice box. This royally set me off. Monday I will call them again. I will keep calling til I talk to someone. I also will tell them if something is not done immediately. I will be going to the school board Tuesday.
So, it seems I am starting this year off with a bang. I can see it will be bumping heads once again til make sure my kids get what they need. Oh and after I got home I noticed I never received a supply list for my daughter. So, I am gong to wing it.

My mother fought the public school system for years, until she decided her children wouldn't suffer, while she continued to battle, and put us in private schools. But these days, homeschooling is the rave and my relatives -- with children still in school -- swear by it.
They are learning far more, at their own pace; my 13 year old nephew could graduate high school right now, if he wanted. It's just so much better, MP.
I wish you nothing but the best with this, because so many American children are NOT getting a competitive, and superiour education; it's why this country is falling behind.
I hope that homeschooling is an option you'll consider, but if not, you already know -- I wish you and your Little Ones the best.
