Raegan is anti-hair cut. She wants long hair, but she's been needing a trim for a while. For starters, her hair got a touch brittle (not bad at all, though) with the bleach & dye job last week. Then, she has a small section on the front of her head, where a small section of hair mysteriously disappeared. Yeah, it was cut, right down to the scalp. I kept telling her bangs would cover them up.
She doesn't like thick, straight across bangs. I talked her into a side swept bang, loose and chunky, so they can be pushed to the side, but still cover the missing section (it's growing in, and is at that 'not long enough to lay flat' stage). Today, she finally agreed to a cut.
Wasting NO time, we went and got it done tonight. The Great Clips in our town is horrible. When I went in last and asked for long layers, and chunky sideswept bangs, I got almost no layers, and horrible thick, straight across bangs. It's taking me 6 months to get them grown out to a point where they blend in. Ugh. No way I was taking her there.
That left going into Lansing, though. Nick and I decided to cheat for dinner, and eat out. Fire Mountain is a family favorite- tasty food, buffet, and as much as we want. Buffets are nice with kids, because they get antsy waiting for food to be delivered. With Gilly being almost 8, it's not AS big a deal, but we still love it.
Well, Fire Mountain is in Lansing, so as we were eating, I realized we could go down the road to my favorite BoRic's, and get it done there, so we did.
I was thinking she wanted something a bit edgier, but it looks super cute on her. They put layers through out, lost about 5 inches of length, gave her cute side swept bangs, and then thinned the overall thickness for me. Raegan was "blessed" with naturally thick, wavy hair. It gets hot in the summer, and it's harder to deal with. I think she'll really like being able to deal with this easier.
I also had them wash & condition it there, since she was due for a wash tonight anyway, and I think they must have used some sort of clarifying shampoo, because her hair looked a LOT more blonde to both Nick and I.
Here's a photo of her hair from the front & back last week:

And here she is tonight, hair down & in a pony tail:

Auntie M
She looks so much like you Heather.
Neither stylist was good, and while the place is cheap, it cost me money to go to another salon to get it fixed when she butchered my hair. So, I just avoid that place now.
I think the salon used a shine treatment on her hair, or just an amazing conditioner because I think it looks lighter because how shiny it is. Could also be from getting so much dead junk off the ends.
